About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Encourage as much love as possible in myself & others
ABOUT ME
I'm a Londoner of Turkish-Cypriot parentage but my mother tongue is English. I've lived in Istanbul for about 9 years, now my Turkish is pretty good.
I'd describe myself as conscientious, serious yet love laughing...I laugh quite a lot! I have a keen sense of the ridiculous.
I love nature and love walking in parks and by the sea. I go for an hours walk nearly everyday and consciously reflect on something for 20 or 30 minutes as I walk. I've done this for years now.
I meditate & also love teaching it, it's deeply satisfying. I'm generally a good listener but also like being listened to aswell!
I read regularly at least a little nearly everyday, I mean books! At the moment I'm reading "THANKS! How Practicing Gratitude Can Make You Happier" by Dr. Robert Emmons. I'm finding it enriching and uplifting.
Something else I think I should mention is that I'm a vegan, you'll either find this appealing or it'll put you off me! I've been vegan for about 14 years and before that I was a vegetarian for 8 out of 9 years. But I don't mind hosting people who aren't vegetarian or vegan!
I need to make it clear that I only want to host people who have arrived in Istanbul by sea, road or rail. In other words, as much as possible I'd like to discourage flying on ecological grounds. (Please don't make a couch request if you are flying to Istanbul because I won't accept you.)
I may not host you, or be able to host you but I am open to meeting people for walks, tea and conversation, so that's an offer that you could take up!
PHILOSOPHY
"Be quick to do what is morally beautiful..."
