About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find the perfect cappuccino.

ABOUT ME

I have an itch to explore and understand the world around me-- the history, the herstory, the mistakes, the lessons learned and the recurring nightmares.
Human nature intrigues and confuses me. I'll never understand you all, but I'll probably die trying.
I am fiscally conservative and socially liberal-- an odd combo that I blame on my dad.
I've lived abroad and gone on two 9-month national tours, so I know there's more out there than just what's in my own backyard.
I've had many jobs and worn many hats, and hopefully I'm a better actor (and person) because of it.
I get bored easily and am constantly on-the-go, both professionally and emotionally. But when I find something I like, I always come back-- or at least dream about it.

PHILOSOPHY

She who learns to laugh at herself shall never cease to be amused.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Spreading the word!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Never "officially" couchsurfed but I've enjoyed my own version in the past. Am always more than happy to meet up with a visitor to my area, or even provide insight online (about the Washington, DC area... about being an American, or an actor... whatever ya want!).

Interests

Theatre (onstage and off); Stage Combat; teaching Shakespeare to kids who didn't think they had it in them; antiques- bottle collecting; art and history; laughing and helping others laugh; playing with my power tools- carpentry; believe it or not, knitting! (amazingly occupying when you're in a van for 9 months); travelling; seeing old friends- making new ones; yapping with my folks; football (Patriots!); nitpicky proofreading as only a true Virgo could do; green things and making them grow; stopping to smell the roses; late night thunder storms that remind me of being a kid; apple picking in the fall- snow angels in the winter; walking on the beach under a full moon; lounging in a cozy bar w/ a dirty dry vodka martini with extra olives; and my favorite "meal"- a loaf of fresh bread, a chunk of aged cheese and a bottle of wine (preferably red).

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a pile of books next to my side of the bed that have not been finished. I distract easily, so it better hold my attention or it will never get finished.

I like escapism. Otherwise, what's the point of going on someone else's journey?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

ONE???

Teach, Learn, Share

The phrase "under God" in the American pledge of allegiance was not actually added until during the Cold War when, in 1954, President Eisenhower had it put into the pledge to demonstrate how-- and I paraphrase-- America is more "blessed" and "closer to God" than our enemies.
How's that for propaganda?
