ABOUT ME

Hello.My name is Vlad.I was born in Bulgaria.When I was a teenager, my family moved to Toronto,Canada where I graduated high school and university and eventually came to love the city and the country and now consider it home more than any other place.

In 2010 I did a 6-month exchange in Denmark,during which I travelled to 20 countries and got the travel bug which I can now not satisfy no matter how much I travel :D. My time in Copenhagen was the best time of my life and I was craving the international experience and environment so I decided to go work abroad.

After doing a one year internship in Singapore and travelling large parts of Asia I moved to the Netherlands to do my Master's degree in Supply Chain Management and stayed here for work.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I was studying in Europe,one of my friends mentioned about Couchsurfing. I was skeptical at first but decided to try it out. I stayed at Maria's place for several days in Vienna and totally loved it.She and her flatmates were super nice,making me feel at home and showed me secret spots in the city and took me to local breweries and good restaurants with delicious local food.

I have surfed with several people now and have nothing but positive experiences :)

While in Singapore I have attended several CS events-pub nights,dinners,outings-made many friends and realized regardless of where in the world and their background CS people everywhere have the same qualities-open to life,kind,fun and simply awesome :)

Now,finally able to accept guests at my apartment too

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling in Iran for 2 weeks-the most amazing country in the world with the most hospitable people

Waking up at 4 am to ride a bicycle in pitch dark through dirt roads in order to witness one of the most amazing sunrises in the world at Bagan,Myanmar-seeing the Moon and the Sun at the same time

Hot balloon ride over Luxor,Egypt

Star-gazing from a hot spring in the middle of the desert in Bolivia

Snorkelling with whale sharks in the Philippines

Diving in Malaysia

Skydiving in Taupo

Bungee jumping in Queenstown

White water rafting in Quebec
