About Me

Hi, my name is Valentin, :)
I'm 23 and I've just finished my studies. With my friend Maë, we've decided to go on an adventure and discover Europe by hitchhiking, in particular the countries along the Adriatic Sea.

We're going from Toulouse to Athens, passing through some magnificent countries like Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Italy and, of course, Greece.

I'm a curious, open-minded person who's always ready to discover new cultures and meet fascinating people. I love travelling as a way of connecting with local people and exchanging authentic experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling by hitchhiking allows me to be surprised by the people I meet, and Couchsurfing is the perfect opportunity to make friends all over Europe. I've already had several experiences of free hosting, notably in Mexico, and these moments have always been incredibly enriching. I hope to be able to continue this human adventure by meeting people with whom to share discussions, meals and bits of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music, I'm pretty open-minded! I listen to everything, but I'm a bit partial to Latin sounds (a souvenir of my stay in Mexico), a bit of rap, and electro for energy. As far as films are concerned, I'm a big fan of Christopher Nolan. His films like Inception, Interstellar and Tenet inspire me a lot with their scripts and artistic direction.

As for books, I love science fiction, especially dystopias. Works like The Butterfly of the Stars by Bernard Weber fascinate me, because they explore future worlds while asking important questions about our society today.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was living in Mexico during my studies, I had the incredible opportunity to take part in an ecological construction project: a superadobe house made from earth and sacks.

It was like building a Barbapapa house! Not only did I learn a lot about sustainable construction techniques, but I also lived in a community with volunteers from all over the world. It was an unforgettable experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook French specialities (my veal blanquette is unanimously acclaimed!).

I'd also love to chat about our travel experiences and learn local expressions or traditions specific to each country I visit, as well as your traditional recipes!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to share a convivial moment over a good meal, which I'll be delighted to cook for you!
I love chatting about travel, culture, music, technology or just catching up on the world.

If you need a hand to tinker or repair things at home, I'm also up for it!

I'm also a musician, playing guitar and piano, so I'm always up for playing together! ;)
