About Me

Hi there!

I've been travelling long-term, open-end since November 2019. This has been a dream of mine for quite some time now. To quit my mindnumbing job and start travelling full-time.

I love to travel. It is probably my favourite thing to do. To me, it is more than just visiting a place, it is a way to satisfy my desire for intensity and experiencing new things.

Travelling slowly, really getting to know a country, it's culture, people, food, history, climate and nature is part of what travel means to me.

It is also a means to constantly broaden my horizion and continually challenge myself by stepping out of my comfort zone. To learn new things, meet new people, see different ways of life and gain new perspectives. Travelling is a way to quench this thirst for experience, a way to live a very full and rich life.

I don't like planes. I mostly get around by hitchhiking, walking or cycling. I sleep in my tent, with local people or in hostels.

I also love to read and write (my travel-blog: unhurriedjourney.com), cook and eat. Being in nature and physical activity are two important things to me, preferably in combination. Hiking, camping, rock climbing, jogging. I also like to meditate. And I like animals, especially dogs.

I can be lost in my own world at times, and very sociable at others. I love to connect with other people, and I love to be alone. I have an open mind, am a good listener and value truth, honesty and authenticity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To experience the culture of a place in an authentic way by meeting and getting to know the local people.
