About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

« He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata. »

This is a Māori proverb that means:
« What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people. »

Music, Movies, and Books

🎶 I usually listen to a French radio station called FIP. I would gladly put it on while staying at your place.

📚 These days I'm reading a book about the history of Chile. Before I was reading one about Africa's. I love to read about history, geography and philosophy (Spinoza).

🎬 A movie, ONE movie: INTO THE WILD. Lost in translation. Her. Big fan of South Park!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am truly grateful to be able to explore the world as I do. The persons I have met on my way, my Journey, the beautiful relationships I have had, the emotions I have felt, all. Life has been such an intense adventure so far.

🏔️🌋 I have ascended quite a lot of mountains and volcanoes. Mount Kinabalu (Malaysia), Fuji (Japan), Hallasan (South Korea), Imarivolanitra (Madagascar) etc. Slept in my sleeping bag inside a volcanic crater in the Caribbean Netherlands.

👍🏼🚗 Hitchhiking and riding a motorbike around the Gobi desert in Mongolia. I also hitchhiked all over New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Argentina.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think that this is the whole point of Couchsurfing. I am an open book. Extremely curious. Sharing, listening, enlarging each other's vision, raising social awareness.

I speak 5 languages. Fluent in French, English and Spanish. Good level in Russian and Malay. I can read Latin, Cyrillic, Hangul (Korean) and Jawi (based on the Arabic script).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Probably the most valuable thing which is Time ⏳

Always willing to learn and to be involved in my host's daily life and activities. I have in the past taught in a learning centre, joined a podcast, led an online talking session with locals, planted mangrove seeds, composed songs using my poetry lines as lyrics, cooked local dishes, done gardening, attended a tea ceremony meditation, volunteered in the observation and tracking of turtles activity such as nesting and hatching.

« Living in the same neighborhood for an extended period of time can lead one to take it for granted. But it only requires the perspective of an artistically inclined outsider to make you fall in love with the everyday scenery again. »
