Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm based in Brooklyn, New York, but I am currently in Cairo, Egypt for the week. I am trying to make some friends who would be willing to take me out and hang out with me. I prefer not to go to all the referenced bars and restaurants referenced by my hotel-I want to go to the interesting, fun, music bumping, and outgoing unknown spots in Cairo that most hotels probably wouldn't reference. Help me out here!

Mostly enjoy comedies and action movies.

Just finished reading Chimamanda Adeche's Americanah, and now I am reading her book Half of a Yellow Sun on about Nigerian life and politics.

Visited Petra in Jordan
Spent 5 weeks in the West Bank teaching at a Summer Camp
Spent about 6 months in Ghana (4 months, and then 2 more months the following year.
