Hello couchsurfer! My name is Valentina Gualtieri and I am a young Italian researcher in applied physics at TU Delft .
I consider myself as passionate about everything, but expert of nothing. I really want to learn at least a little bit of everything that mankind has produced. I love learning and thus I spend hours on TEDx talks, youtube videos or wikipedia pages. I also practiced a lot of sports because of my never-ending curiosity. I currently practice figure skating, calisthenics and volleyball, and any kind of outdoor activity :-) I love staying in the nature, breathing clean air, and enjoying long walks in the mountains. You can always count me in just for a nice walk in the park!

I am very friendly and easy-going, and I love to talk. Not just small chat, but real stuff. I love when things go deep into the meaning of life, what should we do to make it better or how can we can change the world.
I also care a lot about the environment, and I think that the only way to solve the problem is by making people more responsible about their action and behaviors.

Unfortunately, since I am currently living with my parents I cannot host anybody, but stay tuned for future updates ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because I love its philosophy of connecting people without any kind of barriers. I think it really improves people's faith in others. It is a very nice and fun way to meet people all over the world, while also travelling :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies! I see a new one almost once a week! It is difficult for me to choose a favorite one, but I would say I really loved V for Vendetta, The Millionaire and Les Miserables. I enjoy all Marvel's movies.
Regarding books... I loved Harry Potter, Kundera's novels and Stendhal's Le rouge et le noir. I am also a huge fan of Licia Troisi's first books.
I really love Disney songs in any language. I listen to any kind of music, but I am not a huge fan of any of them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

5 months of solo traveling around Brazil!
Running the 'runaway' during the Rio's Carnival has been one of the most amazing experience in my life.
Also climbing the Pao de Açucar... just incredible!

I won a food contest by eating 3 whole round pizzas (normal dimensions, ca. 20 participants)
Afterward, I felt sick and chose to retire from any other similar competition... but the glory still stands!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you how to cook a real Italian dish ;-) But I would love to learn to cook your typical dishes!
Moreover, I would love to share my point of view on life and other important issues, and hear your personal opinion.
