My girlfriend (Freya), and I are friendly and open-minded people who love travelling and learning new languages but more than anything meeting new people and having a good time with them. We have each lived in various countries including Mexico, France (where I grew up), England, Italy and Chile. We have now settled in Glasgow which is a great place to live (especially if you like the rain :D) with wonderful people, beautiful surroundings and mountains that will take your breath away within two hours drive.
We regularly drive north to the mountains to go for walks and we often camp there as well. We just love the nature here and are more than happy to share the experience with other people.

We're always looking to meet like-minded travelers, no matter where you are from, how old you are or what you do. I love cooking and so does Freya, We just have a few rules that you should read and understand before requesting to stay with us:

- The reason we are on Couchsurfing is to meet people, which implies that to the extent that it is possible we want to SHARE something together with our hosts: Conversations over a beer, food (a meal together is always nice) and even if possible showing you around or going out together if there's time. However, as happy as we are to share our house, we are not a hotel and expect Couchsurfers to be respectful and not consider us to be just a free accommodation for the night, drop off their luggage and leave. In our opinion, CS is not Airbnb, hostelworld, etc...

- If you do not have a full description in your profile, it makes it very hard for us to know anything about you and as a result, hard to make a decision on whether to host you or not.

- Last minute requests are ok but we can't guarantee anything as we both do various things in the evening (Spanish conversation groups and bouldering for those who'd like to join us :) ) and might not have time.

- Before requesting to stay with us, include the words "Green, Bicycle" at the beginning of your message and we'll know you have read our profile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We both love meeting new people and sharing experiences with others. We love hearing other people's stories and sharing our own. We both have a strong interest in foreign languages and have lived in various places so are keen to learn about new cultures. We're open-minded, relaxed and friendly.

We believe travelling and exploring new places should be accessible to everyone. Couchsurfing allows people to travel on a budget and make the most of their time away from home.

Interests

We are both passionate cyclists and strongly believe in cycling as a mean of transportation. If you're into cycling too, it would be great to go for a ride together. Valentin also does a lot of mountain biking, although the weather doesn't always make it easy.

We love being outside - hiking, camping and exploring the countryside.

We both like learning foreign languages. We both speak English and French and are learning other languages (Spanish and Portuguese).
