About Me

D'abord, à vous les francophones: bienvenu et allez ! Envoyez moi un message si vous en avez envie!

Holà y sean bienvenidos a escribirme un mensaje si lo desean!

Hey! So I haven’t done much traveling in years and would like to get back to it!
-I'm a very physically active person; I almost live at the gym haha. I also am an avid nature fan so I love to go hiking and take lake trips!
-I'm vegetarian (actually pescatarian).
-I'm pretty open minded and love having conversations regarding all subjects. Regardless of how you identify, what you believe, or your hobbies, I welcome you to message me!
-I was born & raised in East Los Angeles, CA and now live in Michigan.
-I'm very honest, trustworthy, friendly, clean, respectful, mindful, and kind. I hope you agree that these qualities are important when in someone else's home.
-I love to travel to learn about new places, cultures, and people. I need to do more of it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well seeing as how I love to travel it just made the most sense to really get involved with cool people through couch surfing so I can get a more genuine/authentic experience of where I travel to. I had heard about this back in my college days but was too wary of doing it when I was younger. Now that I've traveled a lot more, matured, and experienced more, I'm more confident in meeting new people and establishing connections and even friendships based on traveling and exchanging experiences.

Goes without saying that I would love to make friends all over so that if I do travel back I will have friends to talk to or hang out with! I don't usually have a travel buddy, and if I'm quite honest, part of what prevents me from traveling more is the fear of venturing to new places alone. However this seems like a great alternative to having to go at it alone !

Interests

Definitely into music of all sorts. I love going to karaoke bars. Gym is life haha. Hiking is pretty awesome. I enjoy reading up on queer/gender/feminist theory. I write poetry and reading it is a given right? Hehe. I think traveling is the best way to learn about other people and cultures. Not to mention it gives you great life experience. I love drag queens haha! They're a riot and always know how to have fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

Looking at me you wouldn't think that I would be a Manson fan, but I definitely am! So Marilyn Manson is by far the closest to being my favorite ( I don't believe in having a favorite). I listen to anything from Manson, to Alicia keys, to Madonna, to blue October, to Metallica, to cradle of filth, to abba, to Adele, to Vivaldi, to placebo, to takin back Sunday, to no doubt, to faith hill, to Sheryl crow, to Taylor swift, to Debussy, literally anything can be amazing !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in France for a year. That was the BEST experience ever! I opened up a private practice this year, and am currently working on writing a book on the side.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share my love of the French language with anyone who cares to have a convo in French! Mais vraiment! Faut le pratiquer sinon je vais l'oublier mdr!

I love hearing others' experiences whilst traveling or just life altogether. I love learning about what makes people happy and what motivates them.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a great active listener and can help ya muse over some of life's great questions like: "what is truth?" "What defines us?" "Where do we find ourselves?" "What does love truly mean?" "How do we let go of what must be forgotten?" "How the hell did I get here?" Or maybe even "when's the grilled cheese getting here?" Or "how do we make America great again? *barf*" lol.

But in all seriousness, I'm a therapist so reflective listening is my expertise. I'm all ears!
