About Me

I'm Valerie (21yo). I live in Amsterdam, one of the greatest cities in The Netherlands.

In everyday life, I ...
- ... hang with my roommate and friends 👯‍♂️
- ... love to play instruments (piano, (bass)guitar, singing, saxophone and trombone)
- ... just graduated from my master study Global Environmental Change & Policy 🌱
- ... love to do sports (dancing, sailing, survival running, windsurfing, skiing)
- ... bike a lot through Amsterdam 🚲
- ... eat a lot of cheese🧀🧀🧀🧀🧀

My passion for cheese came into being when I started working on a market selling cheese. I can tell you everything about good Dutch cheese and if we can find the time, we could go to a Dutch cheese market to try some good stuff :). 🧀

I've been traveling my whole life. When I was little, I had the privilege that my parents took me to a lot of places in the world. I went to see some friends with them in Singapore. Man, that was some great, sunny holiday! I went to Greece with them very often, where I loved the sun, sea, beach, the mountains and the ancient ruins. I liked camping with my parents and (disabled) sister as well. I also went skiing in France with my dad, where I enjoyed the combination of skiing, the beautiful sight of the snowy mountains and the cosy alpine huts where we ate the best crêpes/local food ever. The prettiest trip I made with my parents was my road trip trough America east coast/Canada.

I now like to travel with friends/on my own as well; camping and hiking through Scotland, going to cities like Paris and visiting Nashville (where I met the best hosts ever!!). I also lived in Iceland during an exchange minor in my bachelor study.

I hope I'll always get the chance to keep seeing new places in the world, meeting a lot of fun people from everywhere...🌍

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's fun😉. I like to meet new people from different countries. I’m still in contact with some hosts I met in different places in the world and I think it’s so valuable to be connected with them.
