Sobre mí

Hi there.

I have hosted, and have been hosting people, in my home in Japan, the UK, Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia for over 20 years. If you are willing to give me a chance to stay in your home I'd greatly appreciate it. :-)

I have lived abroad for 20 years and returned to the US in 2012. I live between Malaysia and New York City. I own an apartment in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and rent an apartment in Brooklyn, New York. I have lived in Japan, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia. From living abroad I am pretty low maintenance and low key.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I am couch surfing because I love to travel and meet new people on the one hand, and on the other Iove hosting people. New experiences are part and parcel of my life. I like to change up the view beyond my computer and working in new and different locations inspires me. If I have to work I keep my work to typical work hours and make it a point to enjoy the evening hanging out and having new experiences. I get my work over with so I can experience where I am. Otherwise, if I can travel strictly for fun my computer won't be with me. :-)

Música, películas y libros

My favorite music depends on my mood. Pink for working out, dancing or singing. More relaxing music or chilled out times something instrumental.

I like suspense or thriller books and movies, as well as a good comedy like The Hangover.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I've lived in Malaysia for 12 years fulltime and now five year part-time. Southeast Asia is my neighborhood, but I've traveled all over Asia Pacific. I am the very first foreigner to earn a certificate in Malay Postnatal Recovery Practices.

I have stood on the Great Wall and taken a boat trip down the Yangtze river.
I climbed Mount Fuji, went to many Sumo wrestling bashos and attended the winter Olympics in Japan.
I have volunteered at a birthing clinic in Bali and lived in Jakarta.
In Thailand, I took part in walking meditation in Thailand for eight hours for three days straight, participated in Thai cooking classes and fruit sculpting, volunteered twice at an Elephant Sanctuary. I love Thai kickboxing.
One of my favorite cities is Siem Reap where I spent a New Years and went up in a hot air balloon, in Cambodia. I love Angkor Wat.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I teach traditional postpartum practices. I love learning from other people and sharing what I've learned in life.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I can share cooking, Asian cultural insights and travel tips. I've been told I make a mean cocktail. We will enjoy laughs, good conversation and energy. I also help with cleaning.
