Hi everyone!
I'm Valérie, a french-canadian girl who really loves to travel! Since a year and half, my boyfriend and I have lived in Marseille and in Indonesia because of his studies. We love to get to know new lifestyles and try to adapt to new cultures so we would like to live in different type of countries throughout our young adult years :) I love to get out of my confort zone and confront my values and perception of life. We're still trying to find our path and meanwhile I think that accumulating all sort of life experiences will make us find that path!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Last year, I had the opportunity to be hosted by locals in Salvador (at my friend's aunt's house). I really really enjoyed the experience because it was so much more authentic and enriching. I felt like it was more like a sharing experience then just a one-way tourism experience. They were really happy to host canadian girls and to eat quebec food (we made dinner for them), and my friend and I were grateful of their hospitality. Since then, I feel like if I want to get a full experience of a trip, I have to be in contact with locals. I want to go further then just seeing things in a country, I want to feel and share.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movies are the dramas and psychological ones (Memento, Butterfly effect, Incendie) that have the power to put you into deep reflexion, make you cry and/or literaly sometimes change your perception of life. Same goes for the books. I have a special crush for the Harry Potter saga ^^I love feel good songs regardless of the generation or kind of music :)
