CURRENT MISSION

To jumpstart my theatrical/artistic career and meet wonderful, creative, grounded, and focused people along the way. To always expose myself to new experiences, which will allow me to grow as a human and possess more to contribute.

ABOUT ME

I am a Brooklyn native who has recently graduated from college. I am an only child who grew up always surrounding myself with all that the city had to offer. I started dancing like every other Brooklyn girl at the age of three, then auditioned for a NYC youth theatre ensemble called TADA! and became an ensemble member in 1998. At TADA!, I received great theatrical training and met some pretty eccentric friends, many of whom I am still in touch with. Therefore my childhood was spent split between Brooklyn and Chelsea, so I was always out and about with friends. I attended all NYC public schools - all of which specialized in the performing and creative arts. I have always been very focused on what I have wanted to do in life and pursue career-wise, but I value my friends and experiences very highly, as well. My parents both worked in the airline industry, so I got to travel a lot. Both national and international travel is extremely important to me and I hope to only increase this component of my life in the coming years.

PHILOSOPHY

Communication is key. I have always been an extremely open person. I have found that honesty, even though it is difficult at times, is the key to creating lasting and valuable friendships and partnerships throughout life. I am very passionate about the utilization of artistic expression in our society and communities abroad to increase human connections and enhance the personal experience. I get overwhelmed by all there is to see and do and learn about. But I have found that taking things one step at a time and setting simple goals day to day has been when I have been the most successful. I love going out and seeing new places with friends (old and new). I hope to travel all around the world and experience cultures through artistic experiences. I want to perform internationally!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Like I have mentioned in other parts of my profile, I am a recent college grad who does not yet have a permanent place of residence. Therefore, I cannot offer people a place to stay yet, but I am up to help people who are visiting New York or need assistance in that way. I plan to meet people that I would not ordinarily have the opportunity to meet in the "real world". and most of all... I want to learn about places that I have never seen... and meet people who are different from me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never had a coachsurfing experience through this website, but there have been various times that I have visited friends from NYC who now call different places home as a result of college or other circumstances. Traveling and seeing new places is extremely enjoyable to me. I love New York and am a New Yorker at heart, but getting away has allowed me to view the world and various situations through a different lens.

I got to sing the national anthem solo at Shea Stadium (the original) solo when I was 15. This was a humbling and encouraging experience. I knew that I wanted to share with people from then on, and I also knew that I wanted to somehow access the mass amount of passion, enthusiasm, and countless energy that was present in sports arenas. Can we make people that passionate about the arts? or politics?

I am educated in the theatrical field - in the American method, which means exposure and training in the Strasberg technique, the Meisner technique, the methods of Stanislavski, and major players in the experimental world such as Richard Foreman, etc. However, I am like a sponge with theatrical history, new plays/musicals, and international methods, so I would love to learn any new information concerning my fields of interest, which include, photography, graphic design, marketing, psychology, fashion design, and styling. I also want to learn more languages and instruments - I have elementary Italian and guitar skills and I want to expand these!
