Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To go where the road takes me
ABOUT ME
I've worked as a carpenter and woodworker for several years after leaving graduate school, but my primary passion in life is climbing rocks and mountains. I'm currently on the road, living life.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is too short not to live it
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed on a handful of couches, but alas only found out about CS after I moved out of my old apartment with two extra couches.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed with a couple hosts in England and Scotland, and traveled with a friend through Alaska and Canada. We stayed with 5 different hosts from CS (and two from elsewhere) throughout our journey. Staying with these fine folks was one of my favorite parts of the trip, as we made good friends and had wonderful experiences that we never would have otherwise (curling?). I also learned so much more about the area we were traveling through from our hosts that I ever could have imagined.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have pretty wide ranging interests in music, and it depends largely on my mood.
The hobbit and Lord of the Rings series are my favorite books. How can anyone who doesn't want a life filled with adventure not appreciate this most grand of tales?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had a dream, and have actually started living it!
Watched a brilliant sun rise from high on the flanks of Mount Rainier in Washington State as I made my way to the summit. Saw an amazing sunset wild-camping atop Holyrood park in Edinburgh.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a thing or two (or 20) about rock climbing and mountaineering, about hitchhiking, which I'm still learning about myself, wild camping, frugality and woodworking.
