About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying life, my friends, my pets and literature again.

ABOUT ME

I am a linguist and a teacher and I love what I do.
I also love traveling and getting to know the non-touristic places of the cities I visit.
I like going out with friends, having a drink, having fun and talking about mostly anything.
When I lived in France, I learned to like wine.. now I cant live without it either.. Soirées are part of my life =) Specially now that I live close to the argentinian border where the wine is so good and so cheap! =P
My day doesn't start (and doesnt go on) without a cup of coffee.
I always get up in a good mood.
Im totally clumsy, specially when I drink... so dont offer me your best glass/cup!
Finally, Im totally in love with cats! A friend of mine fears it's pathologic.. its not, believe me! =)

PHILOSOPHY

"Navegar é preciso. Viver não é preciso." Fernando Pessoa

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host everytime I can. I don't have much time to go to the meetings but I try to be a very good host, show my guests around, offer them all the information they need to have a cool, different, maybe unique, and specially cheap experience in Foz (or Curitiba) and the surroundings.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I believe CS is about getting to know people and through them, getting to know the world we make. I'm really happy about my experiences and the people I've met =)

Looking forward to some other great ones!!

Interests

I love contrasts and what is different. If something doesnt belong, it calls my attention.
I like getting to know ancient and/or different places, but usually not only the touristic ones.
I would very much like to know the bakery where my host buys its daily bread, or the park where he/she likes to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Love wild nature and also the very urban city. Love love love the sea! I can spend hours just looking at it.
I cant really stand spending more than 2 hours inside a museum, but can spend hours and hours walking around a different city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books, movies and music. I'm not very hard-to-please, so I actually like any kind of movie, it always depends on our mood =P
My Top 6:
Magnolia
Captain Fantastic
Cherry Blossoms
C.R.A.Z.Y.
Beasts of the Southern Wild
For Colored Girls
+Anything Wes Anderson
As for music, I like folk and indie rock to dance and jazz/MPB/samba to listen to. I enjoy jazz manouche very much.
My favorite authors are Saramago, Milan Kundera, Fernando Pessoa and Muriel Barbery.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Dromedary ride and a night in the desert in Morocco. No words!
- The Cordilheira dos Andes from the top of Isla del Sol, Bolívia, at sunset with the moon rising on the other side over the Cordilheiras!
- Traveling by bike!
- Safari in Kruger Park and seeing the Big 5 in one day!! The leopard was a magical experience 😻

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you some Brazilian Portuguese, a little bit about our history, politics and very rich culture. I am a vegetarian now, so I could also teach how to cook some typical brazilian dishes in their veggy version, some risotto recipes or how to make Daiquiri!! I'd like to share my love for books, feminism, cats and bikes. I could probably also help you have a different perspective on Brazilian current politics.. I'd like to learn something about your hometown or your country, I love getting to know a place through the people that live there, and not through media.
