About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Broadening my horizon

ABOUT ME

Really, I am a traveller at heart. I'm not the tourist type but rather enjoy walking down those narrow allies in Barcelona finding the smallest and quaintest Paella place or if it's slandering down the beaches in Sri Lanka until you find the most beautiful cliff to dive off of into the ocean. :) Or even if it is walking through the local food bazars or artisan markets while hearing the vendors shouting out praises for their products in languages I can't comprehend.
And besides that, I'm a pretty easy going, free-spirited, grateful kind of person. I dunno, it's awkward writing about personality traits, if you need to know "about me" just meet me :)

PHILOSOPHY

I can resist anything but temptation - Oscar Wilde

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling at the moment and it's a neat way to experience local customs and meet awfully nice people. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Was hosted in Lyon for a while :) It was a great experience; the hose gave me great tips which helped me to start my time of my student exchange there.

Interests

Playing my uke, visit festivals and concerts, go to cafes, bars, promenades along the beach, go to the arcade to play billard and air hockey, watch good cinema and some series, chill with friends, play cards, diving into mythology, I enjoy some good physics about the Cosmos and I unfortunately love crosswords (ah the frustration!).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love fantasy books, but am sticking to non-fiction at the moment. I love to chat about film philosophy and series so some good ones are White Oleander, Heavenly Creatures, Anime that's deep and dark, horror movies...
Music: this is a hard one, so 'll just give a wide range. From Rock to Reggae, from Techhouse to Soul and from Folk to Metal, but I gotta say, I'm a huge sucker for Paolo Nutini.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Sigiriya (the Lion Rock) in Sri Lanka, was truly a feat for me. Looking down over the sri lankan scenery and discovering the ruins of the old singhalese people was amazing.
Talking to the the Karen people in a village in Chiang Mai (in the far north of Thailand) and playing a round of football with the children.
The festival of lights (fête des lumières) in lyon is also something to see. I've never seen so many people assembled to watch art be formed through plays of light projected on the old buildings and monuments of a city. Just beautiful.
Road trip through the Highlands in Scotland, absolutely gorgeous and reflective trip. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach me anything you like, I enjoy opening my mind to different worlds. :)
I, on the other hand can teach you: english, german, cooking, to love good movies and music and I love a good philosophical/political/scientific discussion about life and the universe.
A nice quote:
"The worst illiterate is the political illiterate, he doesn’t hear, doesn’t speak, nor participates in the political events. He doesn’t know the cost of life, the price of the bean, of the fish, of the flour, of the rent, of the shoes and of the medicine, all depends on political decisions. The political illiterate is so stupid that he is proud and swells his chest saying that he hates politics. The imbecile doesn’t know that, from his political ignorance is born the prostitute, the abandoned child, and the worst thieves of all, the bad politician, corrupted and flunky of the national and multinational companies." - B. Brecht
