About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Right now I am doing a research visit in the city of Stellenbosch, South Africa. After finishing I will travel with a friend throughout the country and explore the Garden Route. Any recommendations are welcomed!

ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded person, who loves to travel and learn about other cultures and languages. I felt in love with South America in 2008/09, when I lived and worked as a volunteer for one year in a public school in Ayacucho/Peru and doing an exchange in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2011/12. I met many interesting persons and characters throughout the world and think that traveling and meeting diferent kind of people can teach you more than any university could.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't really participated - thought I'm a member since 2008 - in the CS-Community until I was coming to Rio. I had such a great experience by being hosted by a carioca-girl, that I was wondering, why I had waited so long. Ever since I attended many meetings and made most of my friends in Brazil via couchsurfing. Most of these friendships remain until today.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was hosted in Brasil (Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Salvador and Belém), Peru (Arequipa and Lima) and Italy (Trieste), attended various meetings in SP and Rio, met a lot of great people and found some amazing friends and finally I also did host people at my home(s). :)

Interests

There is so much I'm interested in: Books, music, dancing Forró, cooking (even better, when I can do it for sb ^^), work out (like Krav Maga and Rugby (at least a half year before I was going to Brazil.. still don't understand all rules, but it's about running and getting dirty, so I love it!), not at least my studies.
