ABOUT ME

We are a creative pair. Konrad plays the bass and djembe in 3 bands, and Stef is a hoop dance facilitator, performer, and creator, as well as a yoga instructor and Clinical Hanna Somatic Educator. We have an independent feline named Simba, and a talkative Gala Cockatoo named Trudy. And a snuggly BMC dog we call Tesla Jude

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have hosted several travelers, each have been so wonderful, like reconnecting with old friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, we have hosted 5 times, each as fulfilling as the next. Stefani has surfed on her own, in Missoula Mt during a mantra yoga intensive. Konrad has yet to have that adventure. We are currently hosting Stefani's sister and her family for the summer, and do not have any rooms available, but will be looking to surf ourselves in California during the months of July and February for the next 3 years!!!

Interests

We spend our time creating together. Sharing homemade meals, making music and dancing. Konrad is in 3 bands, plays bass, and percussion, while Stefani is a facilitator of mindbody movement.

Music, Movies, and Books

Xavier Rudd, Beats Antique, MC YOgi, Medicine for the People, Deya Dova and Ween are some of our favorites. Konrad plays in three bands, an experimental funk rock bank called B Radicals, a World Fusion collaboration called MOKSHA, and a Bhakti Yoga band called Shambava. We watch a lot of documentaries, Stef really likes romantic comedies...the typical chick flicks, and Konrad enjoys martial arts and action movies. Our library consists mostly of philosophy, religion/theology, yoga practice guides, and text books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We went on an epic hike through the jungles outside of Montezuma Costa Rica, which led us to the most amazing water fall! It was terrifying, but worth it!
Stefani spent the winter solstice of '06 at Stonehenge which was a highlight of her trip to England, as well as visiting Stratford Upon Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare!

In Bali, we attended a sacred fire (Agni Hutra) ceremony, visited the Water Temple, and spent some time on a private Island in the South Pacific, which was INCREDIBLE!!!!

Last year we volunteered together teaching yoga and hula hoops at a primary school in Jamaica, as a tool for literacy, and we had such an wonderful time learning the culture, the music, the dance.....some beautiful, soulful people.

We love the olympic penninsula, and the temperate rainforests here in Washington state, as well as the North Pacific coast and red wood forests! Spokane has some hidden jewels that we explore, and would love to take visitors too!

Teach, Learn, Share

Stefani is a hoop dance and yoga teacher, and LOVES to share both! She makes her own dance and fire hoops as well. She would love to learn how to sew her own clothes, and/or make jewelry.
Konrad is an excellent bass, guitar and African drummer, and is happy to share, and collaborate in any music endeavor. He would like to learn from others in this media as well as learn about life experiences and different world views.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The one time that I stayed with a CS host, we had a great time making dinner and breakfast together, cleaning up afterwards, and enjoying tea and conversation late into the evening. We are very adaptable....if our host wants quiet, we keep to ourselves, if our host is looking for company, we happily share conversation, stories, and presence. I would love to share yoga, music, and organic meals in exchange for a cozy and safe place to rest.
