ABOUT ME

We met while both students at UT-Austin and have been together for 9 years now and married for three. Even more recently, we had an addition to the family by the name of Sophia Elif!

We finished a four-month National Park tour living out of our car and tent in the summer of 2008. Then we hitchhiked around Turkey and Georgia for seven months. We also spent some time traveling through Bulgaria, Greece and Eastern Europe.

We've gone on a few family road trips in the last two years (Smoky Mountains, New York), but for the most part stopped long-distance traveling for a while to make room for our new addition, Sophia, born in January 2010. We are living back in Austin, going to school, and trying to save money for future travels. We successfully traveled with a toddler! We went on a trip to Jordan, Israel, Czech Republic, and Germany in the summer of 2012 and made it back in one piece. Now that we are back, we will start saving again for our next trip, so please come and tell us all about where you are from so we have a reason to go there!

Hmmm, some stuff about us...

William has funny-looking hair in the morning, Camille is hopelessly in love with spicy food, and Sophia likes to dance and have books read to her!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We love the openness of the couchsurfing project. We are in this to meet new, interesting people all around the world.

We have surfed with many people during our travels and are having a great time hosting now that we returned home!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have met truly amazing people through CS and hope to meet many more! We have only surfed in a few countries so far, but plan to make new friends all around the world through CS.

Interests

Good food and drink, glacial lakes, expansive vistas, books, music, ocean sunsets, and friendly animals. William is a vinyl junkie and loves to talk about it. Camille loves reading, watching movies and learning about new people. We love to play backgammon, so come challenge us to a match!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Obviously, we can't leave out the best one: Sophia. A runner up has to include the time William was terrified to see Camille venture out onto a rocky outcrop over the Grand Canyon. He was pretty sure he was going to witness her death in a slow free fall to the Colorado River, but somehow she maintained her footing. Nearly having a heart attack, William was probably closer to death than she ever was.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can teach some harmonica, Turkish swear words and obscene gestures, and we are decent cooks (sometimes!).

We want to learn everything!!!
