About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to follow the paths that unfold before me...

ABOUT ME

I live with my husband in San Francisco, California.
I'm travel crazy, extremely curious, open minded and adventurous, easy to get along with, sushi-addict and simply happy :).
My twitter (@vanesacodes ) description: Software Engineer (Golang, Python, Javascript), Hackbright alum, volunteer aid worker, advocate for more diversity & womenintech & using tech for good.

PHILOSOPHY

I can because I think I can ;).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love Couchsurfing because it gives me the chance to meet people from all other the world. If I surf a couch, it enables me to see how life would be in a specific place of this earth from a local person's point of view, which is the richest experience you can get from traveling. I'm much more in touch with the local culture, mind set, etiquette and knowledge.
In exchange, I have the chance to share my own knowledge and experience, am able to touch other people's life and hopefully leave a positive mark, as they leave on my life.
When I can't travel, I invite the world to my apartment and can learn and grow through the exchange with travellers, who share with me their experience and I can travel through their stories and photos.
It's always a win - win situation :).

So far all of my couchsurfing experiences have been wonderful experiences that I cherish very much! I've made so many friends which I've stayed in tough with and have been able to meet again in other parts of the world.

Surfing with a broken leg; Touched the tail of a nose-bear without getting eaten (Phew! That was close! It was fluffy by the way, just as I assumed);
Touched a poisonous snake without getting bitten (ok, ok it was dead, but still!! The fear, the danger!!!):
Touched a huge scorpion without getting stung (it wasn't fluffy);
Touched a pink Dolphin (it was soft);
Swam with sharks (didn't get to touch them, damn);
Saw a blue whale (didn't get to touch it :( );
Hitchhiked around Quebec, Canada;
Hitchhiked around Patagonia, Argentina;
Trekked in the Anapurna Region in Nepal ;
Visited BHUTAN !!!!!
