Overview
About Me
Graduate student recovering from the love bug, currently nursing a bad case of the travel bug.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've lived in a bubble most of my life. Couchsurfing sounds conducive to helping me break away from that.
Interests
Cooking! Eating! Tasting wine! And playing board games too. Preferably all at once.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Hamilton Musical, Local Natives, Sam Smith, Frank Ocean, Sara Bareilles, dvsn, Toro y Moi, Drake, Yiruma, etc.
Movies: mostly sci-fi and romance movies (preferably both in one!) - About Time, Inception, Coherence, Blue is the Warmest Color, etc. Also Disney movies!
Books: Einstein's Dreams, Time Traveler's Wife, Bossypants, Milk and Honey, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Having been a preschool teacher, I had the honor of teaching 2-year olds what eyelashes, eyebrows, and pinkies were.
Teach, Learn, Share
I was a Linguistics major, so I'm not foreign to language exchange (ha, no pun intended!). I speak Tagalog and English fluently, and have been dabbling in some Italian, Spanish, French, and Russian. Teach me your ways!
I was also a chess coach for a bit, so I'd love to play a game or two. Speaking of which, my boardgame collection is slowly expanding, and I almost always have a deck of playing cards - or other card games - handy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am always up for a lovely chat, and I love walking around to explore new places with friends. I haven't traveled to many places, but I do enjoy hearing about other people's adventures. I take travel recommendations seriously!
Also, cooking is therapeutic for me; I would love to exchange an authentic recipe, and definitely prepare a meal or two.
