About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel and enjoy what I am doing

ABOUT ME

I am an easy going, dependable, funny, athletic, and horrible speller seeking to travel the world one country at a time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Who on this site doesn't enjoy traveling and meeting awesome people who love their city, country, culture? I doubt anyone on this site would raise their hand or say they don't like what couchsurfing is about. I am thrilled to meet people and learn more about their culture, country, and about them. Nothing out there comes even close to what couchsurfing offers. Community, education, adventure, love of self, country, and travel are just a few of the things that come to mind when I think of what couchsurfing members are and offer.

I started hosting Couchsurfers back in 2011 when I lived in the Washington DC Area. I so loved being able to share my city with others from across the globe while learning a bit about them. In 2013, I moved to Boston into a building that prohibits me from hosting couchsurfers (very sad!!!) So now I seek the opportunity to meet others across the globe when I travel. I have had a wonderful time with my hosts in Costa Rica, Finland, Portugal, and Estonia. I hope to add many more wonderful experiences with Couchsurfers in the future.

Interests

Working out (lifting, yoga, HIIT), hiking (all season hiking), running, helping others, theater, and traveling.

Trying to learn how to use a new digital SLR camera. I welcome anyone expertise on how to use this camera.

Always up for a new adventure or a new experience. It could be something small like eating Barnacles on my birthday in Portugal to something a little more adventurous like white water rafting down a glacier river in Iceland. Just am happy to explore and try new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

John Irving is my favorite author.

I enjoy movies from the 80s and classic movies from the 20 to the 50s, but I don't own a TV so I don't watch many movies these days. Plus, I usually fall asleep watching movies. I prefer to be outside exploring and enjoying the day.

Recently, I discovered Bluegrass/ Folk music. This is vast departure from the norm of what I generally listen too (love music from Zydeco to Classical to Rock to Musicals (yep, musicals.))

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking in New Zealand and Ireland. Visiting Tikal. Helping my sister deliver her baby.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you head to Boston or Washington DC, I am happy to give you some pointers. If you are a hiker wanting to hike in New Hampshire, I can happily point in the right direction. I love seeing hikers from all over the world hike in the White Mountains.
