ABOUT ME

I'm currently going to University and study Media Design (Film, Animation, Web Design) in my 3rd semester. I've been living in Mainz since September 2013 and I love it here. Before that I was in Guatemala and Latin America for 3 months doing social work and traveling, which was really inspiring and a life-altering experience. Then I did a social year working with mentally ill people, which was also very inspirational. It taught me a lot and I enjoy visiting them as often as possbile. I’ve also spent half a year in Canada 5 years ago.

I’m really passionate about music, art, films, politics, equality, literature, feminism, environment, the human mind, and traveling and try to expand my mind by soaking in as many new and different experiences as possible. I feel like there is always something new for me to learn and to discover so it’s hard to name everything that interests me. So I‘m always trying my best on keeping an open mind. I may have my opinion on things but I always respect others and try to understand different points of view, because I think we can all benefit and learn from each other and I like being challenged. The diversity of people in our world is a gift to me – so I believe that as long as you don’t hurt anyone everyone should be free to live their life the way they want to. There is no masterplan. ;)

Having met countless of wonderful interesting people in my life so far I feel very lucky and try to never take that for granted. I hope to get to know a lot more interesting people through couchsurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only hosted a few people so far and I just did my first surfing in the US this September and only had great experiences.

Interests

Music is very important to me. Though I'm not the greatest musician myself I love listening to and making music and going to concerts. I play guitar, base guitar and the piano. Besides that I'm really into writing, drawing and painting. But I also very much enjoy the company of people ;), so I love spending time with my friends, making new experiences, and go traveling as much as possible. I've been playing Handball my whole life but right now I'm trying out soccer. Also I'm really passionate about films and TV-shows.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite movies: Inception, Fight Club, Donnie Darko, Oldboy, Into the Wild, Garden State, Memento, 21 grams, and many more. Basically any movie that leaves me mind-blown or makes me think a lot about its meaning.

Books: I love Skandivian Crime Thrillers, especially the Millenium-Trilogy, as well as Haruki Murakamis work.

Music: Way too much to list. Let's just say I'm always open-minded to any music that is original and has got soul in it. I mostly listen to rock/alternative music (anything with e-guitars and good lyrics), but I also really like acoustic music, indie music, some heavy metal/screamo as well, and also melodic electro, piano songs, and experimental music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things that I have seen is Semuc Champey in Guatemala, the view of this natural miracle was really astonishing.
