About Me
ABOUT ME
My name is Vanessa. I'm a full time university student from Montreal. I am a very active woman and an avid traveler. Two years ago, had the opportunity to live and study in Singapore, which allowed me to travel quite a lot in Asia. I also have been many times to South America and lived in Paris for a few months. I am the kind of person who's always looking for new adventures. Some of my best travel memories are climbing at night the most active volcano in Indonesia, going to the North Korean border and hiking a 3800m mountain - up and down - in one day. I am a pretty easygoing person who's always trying to learn new things and share with others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
WHY I'M ON COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing is for me one of the best ways to discover a new country. I have amazing memories from my last couchsurfing experiences and strongly believe that the best way to discover a new culture is with people. I hate to feel like a tourist when visiting a country so I tend to stay away from hotels/hostels.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I did couchsurfing for the first time in San Francisco with my friend. I had to opportunity to meet Steven who hosted us for 5 days. It was my first experience and I was surprised to see how friendly he was with me since the beginning of the week! I didn't expect we were going to spend that much time together, but we ended up going together to restaurants, the beach, San Francisco peaks and I had the chance to make the best guacamole on earth for him, as I like to call it. :) I have also couchsurfed in London and Costa Rica. What I like about staying at people's house is that I get the chance to meet locals and learn more about the culture of the country I'm visiting. I also get the occasion to make new friends and I believe that the best travel memories are always the ones we share with other people.
Interests
I love traveling to learn about other cultures, meet new people and live amazing experiences. I am also a sports lover who does boxing, kickboxing, tennis, hiking, volleyball, running, cycling, yoga and crosscountry skiing.
