An introspective introvert wearing extrovert's clothing. I enjoy my solitude, but I also deeply cherish connections with people. Often lost in my thoughts, but trying to learn to be present in the moment, to not be so afraid.

Most of all, trying to learn to laugh a lot more.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I'm in a bit of a transition period in life, and I'm trying to gain new experiences, new perspective, and find myself bit by bit along the way. I suppose I've decided to make a home in my restlessness. Taking time to rearrange my priorities, and hopefully find some inspiration to fuel my art as well.

兴趣

Writing in general is my passion, although I have become immersed in spoken word poetry. I hope to be able to write and perform poetry to support myself somewhere down the line. I also sing, take photos, paint occasionally. I'm an all around creative person, but I'm pretty quiet about it. I'm making an effort to share it with the world.

Music: an incredibly wide range. Favorites would be Radiohead, Fiona Apple, Lou Reed, EELS, velvet underground, tame impala, Edward sharpe, billy joel, Elton john, arctic monkeys, pj harvey, leonard cohen... but also stuff like francoise hardy, Charles aznavour, jorge ben jor, etc. And much much more.

Books: anything and everything by Hermann hesse. His work shaped who I am. Again, there's so many. Catcher in the rye, Ralph Waldo Emerson (self reliance), nausea by sartre, Tuesdays with morrie, Lolita, Running with scissors, etc.

Movies: in love with French films (jean luc godard, jean Pierre jeunet), American Beauty, everything Woody Allen, Girl interrupted, high fidelity, Boyhood, etc.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Took a three week road trip by myself because I was feeling lost and needed to find myself again. Ended up revising my definition of "home", igniting my restlessness, writing more than I ever had, and learning that our existence is constantly shifting. Once I thought I had found myself, I was running off somewhere else again. Came home with a new mantra. I am enough.

I'm not sure if I have much to teach, but I can share my music, photography, and writing with you. And anything you have to show me, I'm very open to learning or trying. Id love to see your favorite spots where you live as well. I also cherish meaningful, intelligent, philosophical discussions. Let's break out the wine and talk about the soul.
