About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission in life is to live like tomorrow does not count. I dream of travelling the world, eating my way through cultures and meeting inspiring and awesome people on the way. I want to share life with great people, and have fun!

ABOUT ME

I am a friendly, fun and funny 25-year old, and an old soul. I love traveling and meeting people, sharing stories and life experiences, and discovering new cultures.
I grew up in the USA and in France, and have lived in West Africa too. I love cooking (I make a delicious risotto...), biking, soccer, art, dancing and exploring unknown cities.
I wear fedoras on occasion, and and rarely say no to an invitation to go out.
I am clean, neat and very responsible with housemates and hosts, and I like to help with chores when living in a community.
I love life and good people, and love to have fun in good company!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that life is the most precious thing we have. I want to live it to its full potential in its various stages, Right now I am a young, awesome 25-year old, and I feel I must explore, travel and have adventures. Why? because when I am old and balding, I want to rest, relax and tell my grandchildren stories that will inspire them to grab life by the horns Carpe Diem!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined in 2009 because I was making a solo trip to Vietnam, and wanted to meet great people through the journey. It's like the saying goes, "the journey is the destination"! I made great friends in Vietnam, and it inspired me to become a host in San Francisco. I continued hosting when I lived in Armenia while volunteering as a Kiva Fellow.

Today I am getting ready to embark on a year-long journey cooking in various communities around the world. I would love to meet couchsurfers along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

All kinds of music...Jazz, Samba, Salsa, Gypsy, French folk, blues, anything that sounds good!
Books: gosh, where to start...Kundera, Vonnegut, Liebling, Marquez...the list can go on...
Movies: Goddard, Herzog, anything with Jack Nicholson, Tarantino...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done a few amazing things. I have learned to keep loving myself, no matter what.
I have loved passionately.
I have always given myself to my work with passion and love, without thinking of the bottom line. When you give yourself in your work, things tend to go well....
I have lived and traveled in West Africa, working as a money collector on a bus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGTA2i0nPIM.
I have climbed a 200 foot tree even though I am scared of heights.
I have survived a poorly planned trip into the Amazon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am still a humble student in the school of life, and the more I learn the more I see out there in this big world! Nonetheless, I have learned a thing or two about running a restaurant of 90 employees. This experience serves me in all aspects of my life, dealing with my frustrations and with "being a good boss".
I am a good teacher of languages, particularly french and english.
I love cooking with people and sharing tips and recipes.

There is really no shortage of things I want to learn. I would love to brush up on my portuguese, which I have all but lost, and I am very interested in delving into Vietnamese cooking!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my passion for cooking, conversations about the meaning of life, and anything else that sparks our mutual interests.
