Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Love travelling ....meeting fellow travelers passionate about travelling as I am.... I believe Couch surfing is truly amazing , it brings together strangers and helps us understand that , though people come from different states , countries - what binds us couch surfers together , is our desire to make others comfortable and happy .
Couch surfing is for all those who still believe in goodness in others, and who trust strangers, and allow them to come and share your homes and become your friend for life.

Request to all Couch Surfers - Please do fill me in on your schedule. I am open to quick change of plans, but would appreciate being informed. While there are no laid down rigid rules for the guests, I like guests who are mindful about the hosts home and their routines . All of us have a set routine of daily housekeeping and managing the house, hence sleeping in is fine , but sleeping unmindful of hosts housekeeping routine could pose a challenge. I like to be flexible and leave the guests to manage their own time , but like to arrange myself around the surfers timings , hence it is imperative to be informed :about arrival time , and arriving from where, departure date , and time. Keeping your sleeping area clean is a basic courtesy ,leaving the room accessible even though it is a private room , because we tend to use the closets in the room for storage.

CS is a home away from home, treat your hosts as family and try to blend in ; we as hosts try to be accommodative; we try to blend and mould our routine to receive you , so, please do not take it for granted , do not use the hosts as free wifi and accommodation basis.

I am not averse to last minute changes; but a loose plan with no concrete arrival and departure makes it challenging for the working family to receive the surfers, without affecting either of the parties , as there are times when it is difficult to receive calls to assist the surfers to find the place without difficulty. 🙏

While I like to accommodate last minute requests, it’s quite a challenge for a host to quickly change schedules and prepare the sleeping space for a surfer, so if you do accept and suddenly change your mind, please inform or message me, this is just a basic courtesy; remember the host is waiting to receive you with changed schedules; it’s a minimum courtesy to inform the host. Imagine the inconvenience caused to us as guest when a prospective host cancels at the last minute (happened to me recently ; it threw me off gear running helter skelter for a place to stay) so I request surfers to be mindful and responsible. 🙏

All the above is only for all of us to enjoy couch-surfing for what it is ….adding joy to the person hosting and an experience for people surfing .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Did river rafting while I was still on my crutches barely a year and half after a major accident , with both knees broken and repaired. I guess that experience gave me the courage and confidence , and what put me back on track to live life to the fullest!
