Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to host once back in 2013 (wow such a long time!) in my hometown - Vietnam, then I was blown with life and work so I stopped it. I used to be a voluntary tour guide in Saigon, then I worked as a host for a homestay on AirBnB. Proud enough to say, I'm qualified to be a good local guide and host. I have 2 sides: silent or introvert side and it takes long for me to get closer to someone. That's why I like the concepts "Freunde" and "Bekannte" in German ("friends" and "accquaintances" - there are such concepts in English but the latter I hardly it's applied in real life). The other side is being a host, which means when I switch to be a host, I open myself and talk more or even nonstop, or when I'm traveling. However, of course, after days going out and interracting, I treasure my me-time at the end of the day to treat myself favorite books, sitcoms or music besides meeting up :)

When I read back my profile which was 8 years ago, I was surprised and laughed at myself "Did I know that one? Why is she so open and active?" =) It turns out it's still me, when I was a guide and a host and now whenever I host any friends. I'm still up for activities, even like it when I do it alone. I know CS is to meet and share, and I love the idea too. That's why I started it years ago, and now I'm back to it. However, stating that to make hosts not stressed of finding time for this person who knows to find happiness on their own :D I know how excited and stressed at the same time when hosting someone - when you need to check your schedule, arrange your time and even tidy the house to expect and to host surfers. I've hosted once on CS but I've been hosting for years - professionally and personally. Whenever I host my friends, even they tell me that to take it easy; my host venes still can't stop me excited and stressed about their visits :P Therefore, I hope you won't be like me, when I state it clearly in my profile ;)

I’m living and studying in Germany, so back to broke life I guess =) luckily I still love traveling and find my heart spring whenever I reach a new land, see the locals and hear a new language. To travel, to eat (or enjoy local cuisines) and to write are intertwined. I love to travel to see how little I am. To my circle friends, I'm a liberal and travel a lot, to this community, I'm just a learner ^^ Therefore, I save my little stories and experiences when we meet and have some time to chat.

Interests

The more you live, the more interests you discover. Therefore, I can just list what can pop up within 1 minute:
- playing Werewolf or Mahjoong or karaoke for 8 straight hours - I see them as pleasant full time jobs =)
- reading for just as a hobby (not for exams haha) - under a big tree with sunshine through it leaves and the breeze (I know I'm greedy).
- singing along for 3-4 hours (if karaoke it can be 8 hours) in most kinds of music that I've known
- anything related to music (singing, karaoke, or listening): when I was young, I loved only a few. When I gave myself a chance passively or actively, I knew more and accepted more. Now I loved mostly all kinds of music (except electronic music - sorry electronic fans - I still can't find peace with this type :P)
- Of course travelling! Who doesn't love it when they're here? I love to travel, to learn new cultures and languages. It may sound funny but sometimes I feel myself touched when I've just landed my foot in a brand new country. I don't know - the new things wake me up - or revive the young and active soul in me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Easy going with music as music is beautiful in most shades. Love watching sitcoms, Hong Kong 90s series and modern K-Drama. There are many great books since I’ve known to read, hard to list the most favorite ones.

This changes over years, so I'll update it when I remember. Maybe the amazing thing this year is the first time being a surfer who knows? :)
