About Me

i am very down to earth, respect me and i respect you. i like to think im a people person and can pretty much get along with anybody. i love meeting new people and forging new friendships with diverse individuals. which is why i am joining this site!

i was born in denver, raised in michigan and grew up in minnesota. i currently live at the top of the state just outside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

im always down to meet new people and show them around my neck of the woods

i plan on getting back after international travel as well with Ecuador this Fall

i have couchsurfed the country from missoula, mt to virginia beach, va. that is BEFORE i even knew this site existed. i am always courteous of others i am staying with and am adaptable when it comes to making you think im not even there or the center of discussion.

Interests

in recent years i have upped my knowledge on eating right and forming healthy habits. this includes not consuming alcohol or at least not in excess. also my yoga practise is important to me. i never wouldve thought id have a yoga practise and here i am... feeling weird throughout the day if i dont do my Sun Sal in the morning.

i am an ametuer mixologist and love crafting and talking about cocktails. no, the Old Fashioned didnt get invented in Wisconsin. yes, a margarita should only have 3 ingredients. a long island ice tea? sure thing garbage person.

Music, Movies, and Books

music is all over the place right now. i shift from funk/soul to bluegrass to dance to folk to lofi to jam

movies are relative i honestly have fallen off with movies in the past few years. too many sequels and reboots of titles that were not needed

i never liked english class in school so i overlooked most of what most would call "classics". However, i have found that I am a huge fan of dystopian fiction. post-apocolyptic, sci-fi, thriller, etc but also ones on the more philosophical side. Mention-able authors at the moment would be Max Brooks (WWZ), Ernest Cline (Ready Player One), Michael Chrichton (Jurassic Park's +), Daniel Quinn (Ishmael series), John Ringo (Black Tide series), Neal Stephenson (Snow Crash), James S.A. Corey (The Expanse)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i have done a 30 day whitewater canoe trip into the remote wilderness of northern/central ontario. we started on the Albany River, which flows into James Bay, and finished on Lake Nipegon. covering almost 400 miles. it was the most challenging thing i have ever done in my life and threw the ups and downs of the trip. i made great friends, caught a ridiculous amount of fish and saw amazing things that i will never forget. (i have plenty of pictures)

Teach, Learn, Share

i am always willing to teach guitar, no matter the level of skill. as long as you are willing to learn i am willing to get you up and on your way.

i am great with computers and other electronics. have a problem that doesnt need to be solved with coding? and i can most likely fix it.

i did get 1200 hours done of the Aviation Maintenance program... so if you have a Cessna 172 at the local airport, i can definitely help you work on that.

i cook a mean breakfast and am always willing to share my recipes and other techniques with people.

i am looking to meet new people during my "off" season. if i can pick up any new skills along the way- that would only make me more well rounded as a person.
