About Me

Hi, I'm Iván !

I've been living in Yogyakarta for almost my entire life, I love this city and always happy to share this love with everyone. Consider myself lucky to have lots of good friends here however I'm always keen to meet new people to hangout, grab dinner with, camping buddies and cool people to go on adventures with.

I love showing people around Yogyakarta and helping them enjoy their 'Jogja Experience' wherever possible. Hence, if you want to learn, keen on trying new things, immerse yourself in local culture, gain new experiences and making friends, I am truly welcoming you here!

I consider myself a very curious, open-minded and easy person to be with. I'm up for hangouts, adventures and conversations with whom I have points of shared interests. I'd like to get to know people, cultures, perspectives, thoughts, basically anything that will spark my interest. I have always been interested in voluntarism and alternative way of life, and that is why I'm trying to be more environmentally conscious. Starting from July 2016, I decided to only eat plant based food as that's what makes me feel best.

I believe in diversity, inclusiveness and equality because the world is way too big to just accept one belief as an absolute truth. The more people believe this way, the closer we get to a world based on love and kindness instead of ignorance, hate, exploitation and destruction. Spreading the message has become my mission.

I guess to really know about me, you will actually have to meet me in person.
Let's meet!

CURRENT MISSION
Opening myself to each different experiences and cultures as I am in search of meaning and in the attempt to figure out what to do with life.

QUOTES
― I have friends to discover and a great many things to understand (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)
― Often, we have been led to believe that we should never trust strangers, why do we have to live in fear on our own when it's possible to make friends anywhere, anytime (Exa)
― Tu mi hai fatto conoscere amici che non conoscevo, Tu mi hai fatto sedere in case che non erano la mia, Chi mi era lontano oggi è vicino e lo straniero è divenuto mio fratello (Tagore)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like the idea of Couchsurfing.
Couchsurfing describes the essence of life: giving, taking, and sharing.

Through this great platform, I'm looking to make new friends and worldwide connections to gain more experiences. I find myself enjoy meeting individual with different backgrounds, having conversations as well as exchange values, thoughts and stories that gave me new perspectives and better understanding. I really interested in getting to know people from other countries and learning from them since
I believe every person you meet can enrich you in ways you could never imagine.
Likewise, I like being part of global community.

Above them all, I seek to learn, anything, from anyone.
