About Me
ABOUT ME
I left the US shortly after University and a stint as a fisheries biologist. Worked in Korea as an English Teacher, Technical Patent Editor and even a Chocolatier. Spent around 3 years in Paris studying International Business, doing some corporate jobs and a quick restaurant job before flying over to China to go back to English Teaching. Now I'm back in my hometown running a few laundromats, buying and selling real estate, managing property, editing patents and doing it all with a lot of help! I am a curious individual who loves food, cooking and most everything else in this world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like to host people who make it to my neck of the woods and to contribute when I visit others (be it through food, drink or just company).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None really! I used to use Globalfreeloaders and Hospitalityclub a lot, but now feel that couchsurfing is my preferred format. Back with Globalfreeloaders I hosted a few people, never had a bad experience!
Interests
Food, wine and the creation of both. I'm generally curious about most anything and also enjoy all varieties of outdoor sports and museums. Road trips and all manners of unscripted travelling are constant goals (preferably to locations with outstanding natural beauty, cuisine and culture).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been to many incredible places, but off the top of my head: Torres del Paine, Chile; Alaska, all of it; Yangshuo, China; Loire Valley, France; Girona, Spain.
Seeing the Vatican was an incredible experience, so was eating at Guy Savoy and drinking a 1996 Chateau Beaucastel Rouge. Seeing the Louvre was overwhelming, but starting to understand it a couple visits later was amazing. Competing in bicycle races riding almost 200km in a day as well as mountain biking at speeds around 60km/h are also things I'm definitely glad to have done and hope to do again.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to teach, after all it is my job! Often I find that teaching allows me to know something deeper.
I like to learn, it gives me more things to teach and I'm curious about nearly everything.
I like to share a great bottle of wine never tastes so good when it is drunk alone.
