About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've travelled and lived around the world to learn about the land and how I can cooperate with nature while having fun and making a living. I've written songs along the way and try to keep saying 'yes' to things.

ABOUT ME

Did peacecorps service in The Gambia, finished in 2016 and made my way back to Big Island. I like to surf, hike, climb, camp and play guitar. I'm Polish and interested in learning more about that culture. I also like reading books, chatting about philosophy, listening to music, dancing and being spontaneous (e.g., having a jumping competition, eating new things, making art, freestyle rapping etc.)

PHILOSOPHY

You'll have to ask and see how i try to talk about the world, 'seeing' nature and listening better to it, variability, keep an open heart, the path, service work. its like a big mix. maybe just to 'be good and try to help' is what i'm currently interested in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I do love my small country town I live in, I also like talking and meeting others to scratch that big world multicultural itch.

I try to keep good contact with people on here and encourage them to travel - it's brave and i want to support something that i value as well. I first met up with some couchsurfers 4 years ago at a stand up comedy show in Europe - i really like to meet new people and have tea or a chat.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's been great - i actually got to host my first guest (Perth Australia!) - the chats i've had with everyone have been really good, even went out to thai food with a few people and have been catching up with CSers all over the world and hosting when i can.

Interests

Just got back from a 3 day hike/camp trip, hunted for prawns, ate coconuts, made new friends - perfect. The things that grab my attention can come and go but the core values center around the simple farm life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've been enjoying the mars volta and sufjan stevens lately. also like elliott smith, devendra banhart and iron and wine. getting into yeasayer. Manu Chao of course and electronic dance music is fun. I like country music, screamo music, sad folk songs, tori amos, clint mansell soundtracks, a perfect circle. Really all over the place, I'm a big music nerd.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Milking a cow for the first time :) - it was a big girl named Elly!

i also just helped pull a cow out of a ditch with a tractor, that was interesting for me :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know a lot about farming and human behavior. Good at listening, good at talking. Easy going. Can share bananas and kava with you as well :)
