About Me
PERSONAL DESCRIPTION
As a teenager I discover the passion for travelling and since then it’s something that has been always present in my life, although it’s not possible to be all the time traveling. My first experience abroad opened my eyes to different cultures and different people making a strong mark in my mind and showing me that the world at that time wasn’t just my country – Chile– and that beyond those frontiers existed a wide range of countries, mentalities, people, food, music, etc. that were awaiting to be discovered.
I’m a very optimistic person, I always try to see the positive side of things. When I face troubles I try to overcome them and try to learn and gain experience. I’m an uncomplicated person, when things don’t turn out as I have planned for me it’s an opportunity and not a reason for frustration or anger. Idealism and pragmatism are present in my life. I like to have deep conversation about how we can contribute to make a better world to live.
CURRENT MISSION
I'd love meeting people from all over the world, shortening distances, making the world just a tiny place where to live. To find out about their culture, knocking down all kinds of barriers.
PHILOSOPHY
Anything you do, the most important or the most irrelevant thing do it with commitment. Anything you experience, the most amazing or the most useless do it consciously. All of those things build your personality and leaves you teachings that will remain in your life forever.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling consists in meeting different cultures and minds. Travelling means always nonstop learning. So here this platform provides the perfect way to experience this.
Interests
I love history; facts through the times are repeated again. So a good way to understand the present and to know how the future may come is to have a look to the great historic events.
I enjoy very much nature, so I like going to the mountains, to solitaire beaches and national parks, etc. Also I like photography, European cinema, reading books, healthy food, listening to good music. Like running, riding bicycle.

Music, Movies, and Books
My likes in music vary from classical to punk music, including: jazz, alternative, latin, pop, rock, indie. Well my favorite bands could be an endless list, but the top listed and the ones I remember now are: The Clash, David Bowie, The Smiths, The Echo & Bunny men, Primal Scream, New Order, Siouxie and Banshees, Cocteau Twins, Suede, The Mission, The lightning Seeds, The Stranglers, etc.
I'm a cinema lover so I like a wide range of films including different periods along the cinema history. So a representative sample would be the following.
The Battleship Potemkin (Sergei Eisenstein); Wild Strawberries (Ingmar Bergman); Amarcord (Fellini); Ladri di biciclette (Vittorio De Sica); Alice in the Cities, The American Friend, The State of Things, Wings of Desire, Faraway, So Close! (Win Wenders); 2001: A Space Odyssey, Clockwork Orange, The Shining (Stanley Kubrick); Breaking Waves (Lars von Trier); The celebration (Thomas Vinterberg); Bleu, Blanc, Rouge (kristof kieslowsky); The Thief (Pavel Chukhrai); Brazil (Terry Gilliam); Midnight cowboy (John Schlesinger); Black Cat White Cat, Underground (Emir Kusturica), Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (Jim Jarmush). Others: Melody, Into the Wild.
My favorite writer is Haruki Murakami. It’s a Japanese author, who besides writing novels he also runs marathons. I’ve read from him: Tokio Blues, What I talk about when I talk about running, After the quake, Sputnik sweetheart; South of the Border, West of the Sun.
Others are: Patrimony (Philip Roth); The Iron Rooster (Paul Theroux); Perfume (Patrick Suskind); The Catcher in the Rye (J.D. Salinger).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I crossed the Cordillera de los Andes by bike. We had to climb mountains, cross rivers without bridges, bear cold and rainy weather. One part of the road was just a narrow path where only horses could pass; it was full of mud. Terrific!
I've ran some few marathons and climbed some 6.000 metres mountains.
