I am a 36 year old male from Anchorage, Alaska who love to eat(plant-based), travel, and meet new and interesting people. The experiences that I have had on my journeys have enhanced my relationships with myself and others as well as my quality of life and I look forward to continuing that trend. I have working in Human Services for the last 15 years helping primarily Alaska Native people with mental and physical disabilities as well as helping them overcoming addiction to living happy healthy lives with mental illnesses. Now I am transitioning into being a restaurateur, but also continuing to work with the people of Alaska as a behavioral health case manager.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Not sure. To be honest I haven’t had a lot of luck with this. My references I met while traveling before I stayed with them. I am a really nice person can’t imagine why anyone would not want to host me after only looking at my picture.

Gonna give this one last shot during the pandemic to see if people judge by more than the cover of the books.

The first trip I was basically couchsurfing with friends along the west coast of the United States and Goa, India. The arrangement worked well for everyone and my goal is to continue to make those types of connections with people all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all types of positive, uplifting, inspirational, and motivational music, theater, and film. I am reading Autobiography of a Yogi, Shantaram, and Letters from a Father to his Daughter. True stories give me the most satisfaction. Conversations with myself (Nelson Mandela), Audacity of Hope (Barak Obama). I like movies about justice and perseverance; Unbroken, 12 years a slave, Batman Begins. Trying to keep the horror out of my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am Reiki one attuned and am currently furthering myself in holistic healing by doing asanas, massage, and meditation. Skydiving in Hawaii is one amazing thing I've done. Swimming with whale sharks as well. Opening a South Indian food truck.

Teach, Learn, Share

I coach golf and ice hockey (goaltending) when I am not traveling or working. Sharing experiences and views of the world through our eyes is one of the greatest gifts we can give. Yoga has become a recent passion of mine and I can share my practice as well as breathing and meditation techniques.
