Overview
About Me
English graduate from the University of Cambridge living and working in London. Back on here ahead of an interrail trip in late May/early June. Hoping to see some of the world and make some friends along the way!
I was born in Wales, and raised up in the mountains in the south of Spain. My flatmate, whom I'm travelling with is Swiss-German. Between us we speak four languages (English, Spanish, French and German), so should be no problem having a chat. Happy to exchange languages, recipes, stories, and host you in our London flat in exchange for your hosting us!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Some of the best experiences of my life have been meeting local people whilst travelling, and learning more about their country and their city than I would've done otherwise. So, after not being able to do much travelling (let alone couchsurfing) during the pandemic, I'm very keen to get back to that! Even when I have the money to stay in hostels every night I always like to meet the locals. See their city through their eyes!
Interests
I love reading, (mainly 20th century classics), art, theater, politics (big leftie), history, food and culture. And, of course, travelling.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a big reader. Used to read a lot of fiction, (Leonora Carrington, Kathy Acker, Ali Smith, Zadie Smith, Ken Liu. Neil Gaiman, Shirley Jackson, Ray Bradbury, Angela Carter, Mikhail Bulgakov, Salman Rushdie, Kurt Vonnegut, Jeanette Winterson, Sylvia Plath, Haruki Murakami), but am now reading a bit more non-fiction.
Love award-winning indie films and absolute trash classics (The Room, Sharknado).
