Hey, I'm Vassili and I'll be travelling across some parts of the world for the next two years, starting with Japan. I want to travel while keeping busy too, through some volunteering or working.

I am from Belgium where I have worked as a research scientist until I decided to stop and travel for a while. I am a mix between a greek father and a spanish mother while being raised in Belgium.

I started travelling alone 2 years ago for 2 months through Chile and Bolivia while volunteering sometimes as an English teacher. When I came back home, I knew I had to go back on the road as soon as possible.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I have been registered on couchsurfing since 2014 but I have never been active on it besides for a couple of couchsurfing events :). So I am still kind of new to the experience, but I want start doing it and hope to share great experiences this way.

Until now, I've mostly traveled by staying at small guesthouses, hostels and by doing some volunteering work while staying with local people. I have prefered the latter because the experience is much more interesting and unique when staying with people that know the place and with whom I can share and exchange experiences.

兴趣

I love teaching and learning languages. I hope to be able to teach english abroad next year. If anyone needs help with one of the languages I'm fluent with, I'd be very happy to help :) !

In the last year I've learned photography on my own and practiced a lot during my travels. I try to keep doing it regularly as much as I can. So far I love it and I hope to be able to improve a lot.

音乐、电影和书籍

I can listen to almost all types of music with no real preference. It all depends of the artist or the song. If strikes a chord with me or not. I'm not much into recent pop music or metal. But besides that my music taste is eclectic.
I love listen to songs from older generations, with a small weakness for the 80s :)

Favourite books are for example Dune, House of Leaves, American Gods, etc..
I'm a big reader of comic books too.

I am fluent in French, Dutch and English and I have a good level of Spanish. If anyone is interested in a language exchange, I enjoy teaching it. Or maybe help with some science or math.
I'd love to learn new languages, so I'm always happy to hear some :)
