MISSION

For COUCHSURFING: To make friends from around the world and share beautiful moments.

For LIFE: To live and share the presence of love, To create something truly beautiful, To grow, evolve, smile, laugh, dance, play and celebrate life.

ABOUT VATSAL

I am a Gentleman. A Humble and Simple person. Polite, Empathetic, Mild Mannered, Decent, Honest and Straightforward.

I do my best to live with Dignity and Integrity whilst Celebrating this Gift of Life.

My Life centers around my work at my Holistic Health Center where I go 5 - 6 days a week.

I enjoy the simple things in Life - Eating and Sleeping right, Exercising, Yoga, Meditating, Reading, Dancing, good Music and Cinema.

MY ANCESTRY

My great great grandfather was the mentor to Mahatma Gandhi. His name was PJ Metha (he's mentioned on many occasions in Gandhi's autobiography).

He was the one who saw Gandhi's potential as a leader. He financed Gandhi's travel and education to London among many other things.

PJ Mehta was Gandhi's secret benefactor and friend and was instrumental in the Indian freedom struggle.

I don't exaggerate when I say that without his contribution, India may not have become Liberated from the British.

My Great Grandfather was called Manilal Doctor (You can see a photo of his statue among my photo's) and he was a contemporary of Gandhi - they studied together in law school.

While Gandhi went to South Africa to do good work, Manilal went to the Islands of Fiji and Mauritius to end the oppression of the indentured laborers there.

And for as long as I can remember, my Grandfather, Grandmother and Mother have been Involved in Spiritual, Humanitarian, Philanthropic and Environmental work.

Needless to say, I have grown up with a strong moral compass, a big heart and a desire to help those around me.

MY WORK

When I was younger and more Idealistic I was obsessed with changing the world and making it a better place.

Time and experience has shown me that the more I am at peace with myself, the more I am at peace with the world.

Now I am content with making a smaller and humbler contribution to this planet, and humanity.

Though I am spiritually Inclined, I endeavour to be a living example rather than talking about it excessively.

Ultimately all truths present themselves in living forms.

I co-own and run a Centre for Holistic Health in the heart of Bombay.

It's called The Integral Space.

My Mother Mona and I started it together in 2013.

As a Co-Founder I contribute to the running of the space, business development, meetings with facilitators etc.

As a Facilitator I personally provide Counselling, Energy Work, Musculoskeletal Alignment, Sound Healing and Tarot services to my clients.

I am also a DoTerra Wellness Advocate and provide Essential Oil consultations to those who would like to improve thier health and wellbeing using Essential Oils.

I also facilitate Ecstatic Dance workshops and I am currently in the process of learning how to DJ Ecstatic Dance.

OTHER INTERESTS

I am trained as an Actor, though for the time being I have chosen to focus my energies on The Integral Space.

Perhaps one day I might get into Acting again.

I used to do the practice of Writing daily. I hope to start that up again. There are at least a few Novels and a couple of Plays that have a desire to come out of me and manifest themselves. I am sure that it will happen when it's right to happen.

There are many things that I wish to learn, many experiences I wish to have and many places that I wish to travel.

But for the time being I am happy and at peace with where I am and the direction that I'm going. I am sure new learnings, new experiences and new travels shall happen in their own time, naturally with grace and ease.

PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY

After many years of Meditation, Introspection and Self Inquiry I have a arrived at a philosophy or rather a practical approach to life which I call "The Presence Of Love".

I wanted to strip away all that was superfluous and distill the essence of what all Philosophy, Spirituality and Religion is pointing towards.

It had to be something simple and practical. Something I could practice on both a daily and a moment to moment basis.

"The Presence of Love" is simply about living in the moment and being loving to all that one encounters in this moment.

Both internally and externally.

Another way of saying it would be "To see the Beloved in all it's forms".

It sounds a lot easier than it is to put into practice. But it is simple and can be lived.

Be Present,

Be Loving,

That's It.

All the philosophy that one might ever need.

IN SUMMARY

Essentially I'm an approachable, open, friendly, loving and down to earth human being.

I love authentic connection and listening to people share thier stories and speak thier truth.

There is very little you could say or do to offend me as I am very accepting, and tolerant by nature - very little is taboo to discuss in my presence.

I love to make lifelong friends with beautiful beings around the world.

Well that's me.

I look forward to meeting and sharing some wonderful moments and experiences with you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I have my own business in the field of holistic health, I can't see myself traveling or couchsurfing for long periods of time.

However, as I am lucky enough to live alone in quite a nice three bedroom apartment, I am more then willing to host surfers or hold couch surfing related or other events at my place.

I am also open to meeting and hanging out or helping to show people around the city.

I also have access to Houses in Bombay's sister city of Pune, Villa's in the serene and picturesque mountains of Mahabaleshwar and on the beautiful beaches of Goa too.

Depending on the timing, I am happy to take a little break from the city and do a short trip to a place of natural beauty with people I trust and get along with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All the Couchsurfing experiences I have had have been positive except for one. (I am happy to talk about it if you want to hear.)

Even though I don't have that many references. Over the years I have hosted somewhere between 100 - 150 couchsurfers at my home.

I love connecting and sharing experiences with beautiful souls from around the world.

It's likely the list shall increase over time.

This world has so many things to do and learn.

I guess the best one can do is trust one's heart and intuition and let it be the guide along this journey of life while always staying open to learning new things.

Life is one grand adventure!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to Film, there are simply too many names to write. I love most if not all forms of cinema.

My favourite directors are Stanley Kubrick, Akira Kurosawa, Darren Aronofsky, Paul Thomas Anderson, Wes Anderson, David Fincher and Hayao Miyazaki.

The same thing can be said for Music. My Father is a musician who has self taught himself to play more than 20 different instruments. While growing up he introduced me to a wide range of musical forms and influences.

After many years of being an avid Music Lover, I now know so many names of artists, songs and albums that I wonder they'd fit into this box.

My favourite band is Tool.

I can listen to them at any time.

Thier primal rhythms and deep lyrics speak to my soul.

My favourite music to dance to is progressive psychedelic trance.

Especially the European stuff. I love artists like Neelix, Flowjob and Durs.

However, I love and can appreciate most if not all forms of music and it's always a pleasure to discover new sounds. I am always open to sharing the music I love and listening to what people love too.

When it comes to books and literature in general, just like my approach with Film and Music, I'm pretty eclectic. Like most people I love a good story; be it fiction or non fiction. I like reading books on Personal Growth and Spirituality too. I also like Comics and Graphic Novels.

But really, I can pick up just about anything and start reading it - It's just about whether something grabs your attention at that particular moment in time.

It makes for richer life experience if one is ready to embrace all styles or genres and is free to explore all the wonderful creations and Art forms this world has to offer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting my great grandfathers statue in Mauritius. It really moved me and made me proud to know that there was a great man like that in my family.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have always believed that we are all teachers and students at the same time, that there is something important we can learn from everyone we come into contact with.

We never stop learning till the day we die. Therefore It's important to always remain humble and open to learning new things and having new experiences.

I can teach and share my love of many things Including: Music, Meditation, Spirituality, Essential Oils, Tarot, Cooking, Acting, Yoga, Massage, Energy and Sound Healing, Integrated Medicine and Holistic Health.

And I am happy to learn about pretty much anything that someone might be into. This life is for sharing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer hosts many things. Best thing would for me to speak to the host and find out how I can be of service.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Mauritius, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States
