Most importantly, communication with the natives is the most valuable means for me to enrich my journeys and turn them into unforgettable ones.

Books: a good read from recent times is "The Ugly Swans" by the Strugatsky brothers; currently I am reading "Twelve-bar Blues" an astounding story weaving around the jazz scene of the beginning of the 20th century in New Orleans. And a bunch of other books, that I can't recall right now but i'm sure a warm conversation accompanied by a glass of wine will bring me recollections of them almost immediately. :))
