About Me

I have strong opinions and views on life, but love to be challenged on them and shown how wrong my views are. I like to think I am very open minded and my philosophy of life comes down to changing and evolving constantly, as well as challenging myself to try out new things.

I spend a great deal of my time volunteering for an organization called AFS, after having spent a wonderful year abroad in Sweden through it back in 2012/13, I got hooked on making sure that more and more people have the opportunity to go through similar experiences, as well as helping them along the process. There really is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone smile saying "thank you for being part of this awesome thing."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven't really had the opportunity to properly use this website since I've always lived in smaller cities, but now with my most recent move to Kiel I'm looking to become very active and look forward to meeting a ton of great people!

Interests

Calligraphy, bonsai, languages, cultures, reading, writing, music, philosophy, arts, mythology, calisthenics, elegance, eloquence, bear wrestling, cooking, ballroom dancing and a bunch of other stuff. Really, it's hard to find something I'm not interested in.

Music, Movies, and Books

Indie folk and folk in general. Also a big fan of classical, Celtic music and jazz. Lately I've been listening to a lot of instrumental stuff like Explosions in the Sky and Two Steps from Hell.

Favorite fiction: Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield, Narcissus & Goldmund and Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse
Favorite nonfiction: Meditations by Marcus Aurelius

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Although not particularly amazing, one of my favorite memories is still a weekend kayaking in the Stockholm archipelago with one of my best friends.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, conversations, tea, specialty coffee and I've heard I'm a pretty good cook, but I'll let you be the judge of that.

Countries I’ve Visited
