About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Move about freely

ABOUT ME

i am laid back, but i am also strong and know what i'm looking for. i feel that i have much inner peace. quality relationships are very important to me. as i've traveled more and met more wonderful people that i know i can't see again i've learned to accept that a relationship can be defined by one interaction--a good conversation, a happy memory with someone, etc. something that always stays with you.

i feel like i'm making myself sound like some super serious yogi...but that is really only half of my personal philosophy. my other half thinks we have one life and should simply enjoy the $#*@ out of it!

PHILOSOPHY

you haven't really lived until you've put yourself out there and waited to see what would happen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i haven't used couchsurfing since i returned to the US but i'm hoping to start using it again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started using couchsurfing when I first moved to China because my friend and I wanted to meet and stay with a Chinese family in the city we were living in. After an incredible experience doing that, I decided to host several people in my apartment in China. it was always so nice to have people stay with me.

Interests

in terms of traveling interests, i am much more interested in doing something like i mentioned above (staying with a chinese family) than spending big $$. sometimes i feel like my best travel experiences are inversely related to how much money i spent. this has usually involved taking the long and hard route to get somewhere, and taking in scenery and meeting great people along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Sometimes you just watch, hear or read something at a certain time in your life when it just moves you in a way nothing else could. in terms of music, that was led zeppelin for me (i think my mind was blown the first time i really listened to them), for movies it's probably a tie between eternal sunshine of the sleepless mind, life aquatic with steve zissou, and a chinese movie called hero (probably all for their beauty), and for books confederacy of dunces (how is it so good and so hilarious at the same time). i also really enjoy tolkien and old adventure books like robinson crusoe...

i love going to concerts so i am totally interested in that if i host you or surf with you. broadly speaking, i like electronica and alternative rock.
