About Me

Talkative and open minded person, I like exploring the world around me, meeting new people, to widen the horizon, being spontaneus.
I also like learning new things, and think that cultural diversity truly represents the real and vivid beauty of the world and people.
Quite optimistic about life in general, seeing beauty in everything became one of my favourite hobbies/mind habits

If you'd like to thoroughly explore Split's historical sites, hidden places, beaches and nightlife, you can check my Showaround profile

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people, to share interesting stories, to travel somewhere and to help someone travel also

Interests

Music, theatre, poetry and literature, dance, nature and everything about it, ecology and ecological awareness, spirituality, ethnology, history, tourism...name it! :)

I used to play djembe when I was a teenager, and that rythm still didn't leave my bones, so I am working on bringing the hand drum back to my everyday life.
Playing ukulele and starting to being good at it progressively, want to learn to play flute and one more traditional instrument :)

Writing poetry can also be listed in some of my favourite activities, but not on regular basis, of course, because I believe that poetry, unlike prose, is ought to be inspired by something to be deeply receiving and inspiring for others.

If you ever see me dance, you'll probably think I'm too wacky for being sober, but I like to dance as if there's no tomorrow, so the best you can do is to join and have unrestrained fun :D
Jokes on side, was training belly dance, argentine tango, and salsa :) but really, interested in any dance form!

Spirituality is something I rather prefer to talk about face to face, if we get to it, and ethnology is my first love in terms of what I wanted to study, but even though I couldn't study it for x reasons, am still restlessly learning and reading about it whenever possible

Cooking is my big passion, and I usually spend a lot of time experimenting with food, new recepies, tastes, and spices (but I avoid too spicy, like chilli, sorry you chilli lovers out there, you can always add some more ;)

Am an active volunteer and currently vice president of mental health NGO in my home town.
This cause, and many others are my big passion, and I find great fullfilment in being a social activist

In the last 5 years I started being aware of environmental issues. I always wanted to help Mother Nature in lot of ways, but I've come to terms with it only a year ago and since then, I try to evoke that spirit everywhere, to support every single cause I can, and to work in my community to rise awareness and responsibility each and every person on this planet has

Music, Movies, and Books

Rock, rock 'n'roll and ethno/world music are my favourite genres.
But I can go for everything, unless it's too mainstream, and of course, depends on the current mood. I like to explore whenever I can

The Fountain, Predestination, Modern times, Midnight in Paris, Forrest Gump, Hachiko, Frida, Amelie, Memoirs of a geisha, House of flyong daggers, Edward Scissorhands, Before Sunset,The Mask, The Gods must be crazy, Take the lead etc.

Siddharta - H. Hesse, Little Prince, The Prophet - Khalil Gibran, Erich Fromm - The art of love
11 minutos-Paolo Coelho, Island-Victoria Hislop, The stories of ancient times -I.B.Mazuranic, Metamorphosis - F. Kafka
There are many of them...and of course, all kinds of Encyclopedias :)
