About Me

An important aspect of me is that I love meeting people. I have a genuine interest in getting to know what others are thinking and feeling and not thinking and not feeling.

I am also outgoing, friendly and have a wicked sense of humor. Add to those that I am a critical thinker; I live in the gray areas. There is something simply exquisite about maintaining an open mind. It allows one to make myriad useful and fascinating discoveries. I am not judgmental.

In closing, I don’t want to freak anybody out, but I am a Christian. What I mean when I assert that I am a Christian – a follower of Jesus Christ – is that I have committed to living my life in the manner that he did when he walked the earth. The bookends of this are love and love (noun, verb, adverb, adjective, participle, etc.). Love takes many forms, including patience, tolerance and compassion.

It is rather difficult to live this Christian life precisely as Himself did. However, I like to think that I am moving in the direction of perfection.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I became involved in Occupy Wall Street (OWS). I joined both the kitchen and food/food justice working groups. This was the first time in my life that I was an activist.

Heretofore, my jobs as a journalist contractually forbade me from doing such things. Impartiality and all of that.

One accomplishment about which I am particularly proud is helping to organize the OWS Farmers March. It brought together nearly 1000 food activists, foodies and farmers from across the country to talk about retaking our food system and to advocate for healthy food for all.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am wholly onboard with teaching, learning and sharing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

In addition to all of my other wonderful attributes, I am an easy on the kitchen, couch, cupboards and can produce others who will say same.

And, and and, I make some pretty good popcorn using EVOO (extra virgin olive oil).

Countries I’ve Visited
