ABOUT ME

I'm a super pumped but shy person. I am amiable and cheerful. I like to geek out then go out.

PHILOSOPHY

In first grade, I decided I wanted to travel around the world. My entire life I pined for this momentum so here I am. This is the pinnacle of my dreams.

Also, I am a casualty of "the lost generation" so I am traveling until the economy gets better. I could blow my money on a worthless masters or cross out a bucket list item.

Do one thing that scares you every week.
If a door opens for you, walk through it! It may never open for you again.
Screw what society dictates what you should be doing at your age. There is always time for that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I thought I would use this on my first leg, but housing was so cheap that I made a lot of friends in hostels! But then I ran out of money wicked fast, so now I want to do this for real.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met a bunch of people who use this, and I feel this will be important to use when I head off to more expensive locations. Everyone swears by it!

Interests

I enjoy unusual fun like karaoke and 80s arcades. I love electronic music, particularly 8 bit chiptune. I majored in anthropology and want to get masters in subculture studies. I really love technology, so one thing I am exploring is how technology is integrated into subcultures and societies. My less nerdy side loves to meet people, and I love making friends from around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love 80s movies, but I am a HUGE sucker for bad movies. Like really bad. If you grew up with MST3K, you will understand why I love them!

I love most music without lyrics. Post-Rock Instrumental and Chiptune are my loves, but I really love bitpop, synthwave, and mathrock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh man...getting lost in Aokigahara (suicide forest) at the base of Mt Fuji. Being alone in someplace so beautifully creepy really gave me the feels.

Currently I'm going around the world, so I think that will top the list once I finish. Seen so much already!

Teach, Learn, Share

I grew up in a multi-ethnic household. I lived in Texas, Honolulu, and Hangzhou. I am so thirsty for knowledge that I haven't ever considered what I could teach to you! I know I am eager to learn from you.
