My name is Veera and I'm a 25-year-old student of social work from University of Jyväskylä. Currently trying to finish my Master's thesis to graduate.

I love good food and I'm interested in learning to cook new dishes. My favorite dishes (that I can cook) at the moment are Risotto alla zafferano, Pasta with smoked salmon and artichoke and Chicken with cream cheese and eggplant. I also like different kinds of wines, at the moment I like Portuguese red wines and German white wines. Chocolate is also very close to my heart, especially if it contains hazelnuts. And I love cheese, especially brie and blue cheese. I could speak about food and drinks all day long.

Another thing I like is photography. I like to take pictures of beautiful places and beautiful people and most importantly, food. Yes, I take pictures of my food. Some people say pictures are for those who would not otherwise remember what they have seen but I take pictures, because memories fade and another thing is that you can't exactly show your memories to other people, but pictures you can show others. I want to share my experiences!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like stay somewhere cheap and safe when I travel and I also like to meet new people! I think everyone has a story to tell and something to teach to others. And you never know, you just might meet someone who will become your friend for life.

I watch too many movies to pick up any favorites. I can watch anything except horror movies. I like movies that bring tears to my eyes (whether it is because I'm so deeply touched or because I laugh so hard that I start to cry).

I love books written by Khaled Hosseini, especially Thousand Splendid Suns.
