About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Becoming a less awkward human being – remaining kind and curious towards people and the world.

ABOUT ME

I write for a living, boulder on my time off. I love to cruise around Helsinki with my old red bike and admire my beautiful city. The outdoors and urban nature are my favorite things. Sometimes I grab my camera with me and even manage to take a few photos along the way. My dream is to take off to New Zealand and Australia for loooong working holiday trip before I turn thirty.

Oh and also: I absolutely love craft beer and good food.

PHILOSOPHY

What time is it?
Now.
When is it not now?
Never.

This quote is something that I learned while I was living far away from home, in Michigan, United States. Maintaining this mentality in the everyday grind is what I aim for – grasping every little moment and opportunity and being open for changes that this mentality brings about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had amazing experiences Couchsurfing during my Au Pair year in the United States and exchange semester in the Netherlands. In Helsinki I've gotten to know great people through the active local Couchsurfing community. Now I want to host surfers to pay back to this amazing community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed around the States during my au pair year, in Santa Monica, Chicago, Denver and Orlando. From the Netherlands I traveled to Naples, Italy and had a magical time with the local surfers. The people I've met through Couchsurfing have absolutely made my trips!

Interests

I love traveling, meeting someone from a different country and culture than mine, learning from each other, having a good dinner paired with a nice brew, deep talks, dancing until the morning, bouldering, photographing, snowboarding. Living it up.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now my goldfish-type attention span allows me to mainly watch tv-shows. Best in rotation right now are Sharp Objects and Insecure.

There's no way I could not mention Harry Potter – these books have had quite an impact on the person I am today. Best book that I've recently read is The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair by Joel Dicker. Recommendations are very welcome!

I'm going though a phase of exploring Finnish music. Right now I can't get enough of Vesta and J. Karjalainen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My Au Pair year in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Everything about it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to take you out to try some bouldering!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My beautiful city! I absolutely love Helsinki, and claim to have found some really cool places during the years that I have lived here. I am more than happy to take you on bike rides around the city, to a little hippie sauna and a dip in the sea, to museums, cozy bars and tasty restaurants. However, my expertise is nice nature spots in the middle of the city.
