Hi! I'm Veerle, 22 years old and in my last year of uni. I'm studying to become an international primary school teacher, and hope to go work abroad after I graduated. I live in the beautiful city of Leeuwarden, in the upper north of The Netherlands. I grew up in the south of The Netherlands, and love both 'corners'.
I love traveling and meeting new people, learning about their culture and exchange travel stories! Overall, I'm a very relaxed person, who loves to explore new places!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is the perfect way to not only travel on a budget (which is very nice, especially for students like me), but also meet people and learn from each other.
Last summer, me and my friend backpacked through the USA (WA, OR & CA), and we loved meeting new people on the way.

Interests

I love watching movies, series and documentaries. Traveling is my favorite thing to do, but when I'm studying or I don't have enough money, I also love exploring my own country. I grew up near the sea, so the beach is my favorite place to be. While doing that, I like to take a lot of photos. I'm still learning, but are very interested in photography and editing!

That's a difficult one!
Music: I like different genres, from Alt-j to Mumford & Sons, Beach House to Editors.
Movies: just saw Dunkirk, and was totally impressed! I also like About time, atonement, Milk. And I watch a lot of series: GOT, Oitnb, this is us, Outlander.
