Hi! My name is Veerle, I'm 25 years old.
I study Biomedical Sciences and want to do a master's in Education. I am a huge science-nerd, but I am also very much into learning new languages and seeing new cultures.
I play, live, and breathe roller derby.
I love everything British, from Shakespeare to Doctor Who and from the London Underground to the shitty weather.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a student in an in-between-year, I would love to travel, see new things and meet new people. I want to couch surf primarily because I don't have enough money to pay for hotels everywhere I go, but I also figured that wherever I will go; people who live there will be the best guides and have the most interesting stories about their city!

Roller derby! Also photography, literature, theatre and art. I am very interested in linguistics, culture and open minded about religious views. I love cooking and baking (and eating) and I am happy to help out in the kitchen if ever needed :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite music is absolutely the Beatles, but I listen to almost anything, depending on my mood. I looooove dancing to real cliche 80's tunes, but I can go nuts with Taylor Swift and Katy Perry too. (Warning; I'm an awful dancer.)

I absolutely adore sappy drama movies and romance flicks. Also, Disney. Yep, I'm like a 10-year old girl when it comes to movies.

Reading is one of my absolute favourite pastimes, only I seldom have time to pass due to studying... Hope to get a lot more reading done in my vacations!
I read basically everything I can get my hands on. From young adult (sci-fi) novels to Shakespeare and everything in between. My biggest dream is to live above a bookshop.

Teach, Learn, Share

As I stated before, I'm a total science nerd. I love talking about my field (biomedical science, so; diseases, how they work and how we can stop them) and if you are interested, I can teach you stuff like how cells work, what cancer is, why people get older... You name it, I know it! (Or I can easily figure it out anyway and then explain it.)

I would love to take something more than just the experience of couch surfing away from a trip, so if you know any cool stuff, please teach me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a real talker, but I'm a good listener too. I love learning about other people's interests, life and dreams. I will ask about it too, if I feel those questions are appropriate and welcomed. ;)
Also, I love to cook and I could help out in the kitchen or even prepare a real Dutch meal if you'd like!
