My goal in life is to have as much fun as possible and have the the best stories at the end!!!

My backstory:
- Grew up in Arizona and San Diego
- Toured all over the world with rock bands from 2001-2005
- Lived in Las Vegas from 2005-2012 making poker TV shows and playing poker professionally
- Sold my house in 2012 and put all of my possessions in storage, and I traveled the world from 2012-2016. You can see all of the places I went below.
- Took a break from traveling to move back to San Diego in 2016. Spent 3 years working part time and taking lots of trips. I took 10 vacations in 2018!
- Moved to Austin in 2019 for a change of pace. Suffered through the pandemic and am back to enjoying this city and getting back out travelling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined CS in July of 2011 and instantly fell in love with everything that it's about. I've surfed all around Europe, and have hosted a bunch of people at my home in Las Vegas prior to selling it. Even when I'm not surfing, I love to attend CS meetups and join people for exploring new cities together. I'm not sure that my love of travel would be at the level it is without CS.

Interests

I left the music industry awhile ago, but it still has my heart. I love seeing live bands, and often plan my travel around seeing some concerts. Even if you don't have the same taste in music as me, we'll get along great if you have a passion for music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to be a professional poker player, so a lot of people are fascinated when I tell them I won a poker tournament for six figures in 2011. Definitely a good day, and a nice validation for my skills.

I'm also the proud owner of an Emmy Award for my work behind the scenes on a poker television show.

I like to say that my job title is "Quality of life improvement specialist". What does this mean? Well, I'm the guy you call if you're trying to find a good deal on a flight or a new laptop. I'm the guy you call if you are looking for a restaurant recommendation that fits your budget. I'm the guy you call if your wish your phone did something but don't know which app to get. Basically, if it involves technology or deals, I'm here to help. :)

PHILOSOPHY

"Live with no regrets."

In high school, I skipped prom, and my mom asked me if I'd regret it later. I told her it didn't matter if I'd regret it, because it's what I wanted then. Why should I do something different to please "future me?" I do what I want to do on any particular day with little regard for how "future me" will view my actions. It's very liberating.

Hedonism

This sounds like such a dirty word, but the literal definition is the pursuit of pleasure. I believe this is more or less how I live my life. Given two options, I'll pick the one that makes my life more enjoyable.
