About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To host amazing travelers and conquer the Earth with my bicycle!

ABOUT ME

Hello all!My name is Brent. I'm a super chill, down to earth dude with an adventurous spirit, hunger for knowledge and meeting amazing people. My idea of an epic time is virtually anything one can think of doing in Colorado's amazing mountains. Always exploring, always wanting to turn the next corner to see what awaits.

PHILOSOPHY

I am an avid believer in synchronicity and believe everything happens for a reason. I tripped and fell to discover what gravity had been trying to tell me. I bumped into you because we were supposed to have a conversation. I'm not religious, but I'm spiritual. The universe has me. It is me. And you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm brand new to the website, but have had my run-ins with the couchsurfing crowd mainly through Colorado's Burning Man community. I'll turn this into my "How I Plan To Participate In CS" section. Currently I'm in a living situation that's somewhat less conducive to hosting. However, all of that changes the end of February once I have my own place to myself and I will definitely be interested in amazing company. I'll keep my profile updated as to when that becomes available. My primary reasons for joining the CS community are: 1. To meet interesting people who stand a chance at perhaps broadening my horizons to an extent. 2. I'm planning a semi-cross country bicycle trip from CO to NC tentatively scheduled for next summer. I'd like the opportunity to maybe surf some couches if needbe, but I'll definitely be doing a great deal of camping!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I'm an absolute newbee to the actual CS website, I'm not so much a stranger to the community as a whole. I've met some wicked amazing people through CS events here in Colorado that at the time I was completely oblivious to the fact they were, in fact, CS events in the first place. I also inadvertantly hosted a couchsurfer without really knowing she was a legitimate couchsurfer at all. Met her on a bike path and ended up showing her around and taking her along on a trip into the mountains before she continued her push west.

Interests

My interests could probably be described as "typical" for a person in my age group living in Colorado. Skiing, camping, hiking, climbing, cycling, snowshoeing, among other outdoor activities. I also enjoy brewing my own beer. Usually ales of various styles. I can easily pick out cycling as my favorite of my "interests" I've listed. Moreso during the warmer months, I'll spend countless hours on my bike pedaling out hundreds of miles a week, sometimes in a single day. My passion for going and going is what has driven me to the conclusion of cycling back east some 1600+ miles.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is very diverse within itself, but very specific on everything beyond. I love electronic music. Anything from old school techno to today's most heart-pounding drum and bass, dubstep, glitch, etc. I also have quite an affinity for hard rock and heavy metal. Add some classic rock for good measure, along with a dash of country - mainly the older stuff, and that's about it. I have no interest in R&B, hip-hop, and rap.I'm not much of a movie buff, but I do enjoy flicks that get your mind going. The Butterfly Effect, Da Vinci Code, and the Matrix trilogy to name a few. You can also never go wrong with a well constructed sci-fi movie or anything with Bill Murray.Books kind of parallel my movie tastes and then some. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Ender's Game, The Celestine Prophecy, The Power of Now, and nearly anything written by the late Michael Crichton are among my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seem the world from on top of several of Colorado's amazing 14ers. And the list is growing! I've bared witness to the amazing artwork of Apogaea and Denver's funky art galleries! I've tasted amazing beer from numerous Colorado craft breweries and cant get enough! So many amazing experiences and these are just the most recent... Ask me about more!
